i want to pre-order DanganRonpa: Trigger Happy Havoc(vita) and Conception II(vita or 3ds not sure yet) from ebgames, but the last time i pre-ordered anything was when pokemon gold was coming out.
so i wanted to know how does gamestop/ebgames handle the pre-orders, do i get the bonuses that come with the game when i pre-order it or when i get the game?

That depends on the GameStop. I preordered Persona 4 Golden to get the Vita skin but never got it since they never received the skins. Usually you get it the day you go in and pick it up. If I were you I would just preorder DanganRonpa from NISA's online store.

Well American Gamestops seem to be widely run by untrained monkeys.
Since you seem to be in Canada, you should be fine.

You get the bonuses when you pick up the game. I've pre-ordered probably 20-30 games, maybe more, and not once have I not been given my pre-order bonus. All from EBgames/Gamestop.

Is there any advantage to preorder Gamesop instead of something like Amazon?

If you live nearby a distribution facility or a major city, then common retail items like video games are delivered much faster than the expected time of arrival. And any video game over $35 gets free shipping. I pre-ordered the last Zelda and got it in the mail the day after release, even though it said I wouldn't have it until 3-4 days later than that.
