I don't think most people here know what it means to be a trusted certificate authority...

Yes, people shouldn't ignore it, but to think safe sites that have false positives are dangerous is ridiculous.

It is technically not a false positive since a certificate has nothing to do with whether a site is safe or not. A site can have a certificate generated by a trusted authority and be perfectly secure and still steal your information. The only thing it guarantees (or at least tries to) is that the communications will not been compromised by a man-in-the-middle attack. However, if a site does not have a certificate generated by a trusted authority (or if the communication is simply not encrypted), then you cannot tell if you have become a victim of a man-in-the-middle attack or not.

tl;dr version: In general, it's safe to go to a site without a certificate from a trusted authority as long as you treat the site as an un-secure site (i.e. uses http; not https) because their maybe a man-in-the-middle watching :glare:. So there is no need to be scared of https://events.ccc.de/congress/2013/wiki/Static:Schedule as long as you don't give them personal information (which I don't know why you would).

Welcome in Brave New World.

What is happening when PRNG is broken? PS3 fail miserably...

At least this thread has information about actual presentations. Gamepad release was basically promised. Saw video of that type of work also. Explanation was already given months ago (approximately 03/2013?). To have the right tools and the reversing experience:-)

As for four horsemen garbage and Harryoke avoiding subject that is telling.

Oy vey, let it go. Yes, people shouldn't ignore it, but to think safe sites that have false positives are dangerous is ridiculous. People are so damned paranoid on the internet and don't know how to be safe, use trustworthy sites, no problem. Know where and how you give information, if you think your credit card info was stolen, call the card company and your bank. Looks like common sense isn't commonplace. People are fear-mongering far too much. I wasn't intending to mislead, but whatever. People need to use their own judgment and not do something just because others don't/do something.
Great advice from someone whose twitter account has been hijacked and is spewing spam tweets.

Guys, we may have judged four horsemen too quickly. On Gregory's site, find the right thread and see what Bubba posted:-). I phrase it this way as magically I would be banned for posting links to other sites. Check it out, it is worth it....

The link is included in the source to the original thread. Why would you get banned for linking that?

It seems that this may be a hoax. The gamepad seen in the video has a NFC icon on it that's only seen on devkit gamepads.

Compare this, which is the public version of the gamepad. The NFC icon is the rectangular icon that's left of the screen, stenciled onto the plastic.

The devkit version of the NFC icon is square, not rectangular, like this...

You will notice that in the video, the gamepad has the devkit NFC icon, not the commercial one.

Can we finally close this thread plz. There's no real fourhorseman.
Just a bunch of thread boosters and gullible people. I'm surprised this thread wasn't shut at least a week ago.........
There are two reputable ppl saying it is real, and it could have been a devkit sync to a non dev kit system, we will see on monday.
