"I personally paid $125 + Shipping..." = Bullshit, he lives in Canada. MCC is in his state.
"50 - 70 for a fake one" = Clones or he's lieing. There is no "Fake Gateway" at this point in time.
"80 - 100 for a new one because they are on sale..." = Him trying to raise the price by making it sound like you are getting a better deal. If that was a 'sale' price, what the hell is their normal price?
I know i live in canada and bought my Gateway from Modchipcentral.com and the total was not 125 + shipping.
And look in the title "Gateway (R4)" so is he selling an R4 gold deluxe for the price of a gateway?
Yes, this seller is deceiving potential buyers. A 2DS doesn't work with Gateway, and no one can play Pokemon roms, period. But on the other hand, I can't say I would have any sympathy for anyone who would get fooled. If you are going to buy an expensive flashcart from any place, wouldn't it make sense to first read up on it and what it can do or can't do? A simple Google search would tell you the required firmware versions and the incompatible roms (pokemon roms leading the list). Being a soccer mom is no excuse, you still can use google.
Phone scams for the elderly have been making the news for nearly a decade now, if not longer. If some old folks still fall victims, either they never watch the news, or they haven't got 100% of their intellectual abilities (not in a derogatory sense, it might be related to illness like alzheimer). In that case, they should let the financial aspects of their life be handled by someone else who they trust.people that can google/are used to the internet, wouldnt become victims of such scams tobegin with, it's like saying the elderly should also know very well about those phone scams because they can google, but you should realise some some people still dont use pcs that much, and when they do, they risk getting scammed or alot of viruses from simple stuff, which is what these scams/viruses/etc are aimed at.
