make sure that the cable is only on that spot and it doesn't make contact with any other part of the motherboard, besides the small point on that tut.(possible short circuit)
If it isn't that then im sorry but i can't help you to get any better results.

I recently bought a AGB on ebay that was modded with a backlight kit from RCG. It works fine, but the screen doesn't look so great. It's kind of grainy, like the pixels stand out more. And if I tilt the GBA front to back, things shimmer. My SP doesn't have these issues.

Is this just because the screens in the RCG kits aren't Nintendo quality?

The Kits RCG supply are same as zerey's
The difference is in the polarizing film that is stuck on the surface of the screen, its not a fault it just how the last revision and current new AGS101 Screen are now.

Maybe try changing the polarizing film to one without grains to see how it looks.

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling that was the problem. Sounds like there's not much I can do about it though...

Comparing it side by side with my original AGS-101 it looks really horrible. Not sure I even want to keep it to be honest.

Take pictures as it may not be modded right.

OK here are pics of each. The modded GBA is on the left, and the SP is on the right. Notice that the modded one does not have uniform color. It's hard to see the difference in these pics to be honest...

registered just to do this project. I've read through the whole thread. I have a 40 pin AGB at the house, and a AGS-101 on the way to pillage for a screen (I'd rather use genuine). I have a 101 screen in my SP NES edition, but no way taking that out of it.

I bought an adapter cable from ebay, which I thought was just a reseller of Zerey's cable, but it looks a little different to me. Is this cable Zerey's or does anyone have experience with it? http://www.ebay.com/itm/GameBoy-Adv...434?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item461abaff7a
