I have a general question... What happens when Devolution validates
the actual disc? Does it alter the 1:1 ISO file in some sort of way to indicate it's been validated with actual disc?

It generates a <GAMEID>.DVV file in the same folder as the devolution loader.bin or boot.dol for each game that's verified.

Thank you very much. Do you think its possible to take an existing DVV file and create one for a different corresponding .iso?

If you would know what the program expects to be in that file, it would be a simple fix, yes.

The most recent version seems to store your validated games info in the Wiimote internal memory, so it's way more complex, since you don't have access to that memory.

Doesn't it still use the DVV files as well? As it's now possible to move the harddisk with the backups from your wii to your wiiu, the Wiimote was added as an additional protection to prevent those backups being used at your friends place.

It doesn't store the game info in the Wiimote memory. It uses the unique mac address of the wiimote as part of the encryption of the related .dvv file. So as long as it detects that wiimote mac is connected, it will allow the games to boot.

Is it possible to transfer to SD on the Wii, then bring it over to an HDD for use on the Wii U? My usb port is dead on my wii.

unfortunately i don't believe you can because it takes a full reference of how it is set up on your Wii (eg. stored on SD or USB) but I can't say I ave tried it, give it a go

I though that would be another method, but all Wiimotes should have the same ID depending the model... I'm not sure if they have a mac adress to comunicate with the console.
