fucking love it they took the best zelda and made it even better! giving you all the old items from the start, packed with secrets and stuff to collect and best of all it doesn't hold your hand all the way through! (unless you use the hint ghosts)

and peeps saying they finished it in 10 hours what are you doing a speed run? i've sunk at least 9 hours into this and have just ended up in the dark world.

Only managed a couple of hours so far, but loving it up to now! Personally I quite welcome the idea of the shorter playtime, longer games are starting to be a bit of a chore to me, and I'm sure we've all got a backlog of games anyway.

Super Mario 3D Land I'll agree was insultingly easy, took the shine off what would otherwise been an all time classic for me. Apparently World is quite similar, but gets much tougher towards World 8 (and beyond)... and with having 2 lads that aren't as skilled in Mario as me (they can whoop my ass at the likes of CoD though, ugh!) then these piss easy earlier levels might actually be a godsend for multiplayer seshes! :D

No, not really. My play style just tends to makes games go by really fast (if you can make any sense out of that :S ). In fact, I just beat Hero mode too :D (total time for both playthroughs 19 hours and 9 minutes).

As a perfectionist, it took me about 18 hours to ~99% it on the normal playthrough. I'm just missing a heart piece and an upgrade or two.

For the hardcore mode, I'm thinking 3 heart challenge (without picking up gear/upgrades if I'm feeling gutsy enough).

I think the 9h are more speed running than normal playing. It is a non linear game. So the playtime will be different for everyone. It s not like e.g. uncharted.
I will definetly need more than 9h.
The game itself is fantastic and full of great ideas.

Personally, I would have preferred if the dungeons contained an item in them instead of being able to just buy everything at the start.

The non-linearity is nice, though. Throwback to some of the earlier games in the series.

I love it. I did pay $40 bucks for it, but it is so worth it. The story itself is quite short, but I enjoyed it so much that I don't really care. After completion of the story I had a feeling that I wanted to play it again, that's when
Hero mode
happened. Oh man, game is just awesome, worth the buy in my opinion. Completed the game in maybe 10-12 hours without doing much side quests, but the ones I did do were lots of fun.

you can't be enjoying it playing it that fast and you've missed out on a shitload of stuff and side quests too.

I just got the game yesterday. It's pretty fun. (I just got into Lorule/dark world.) I like the fact that money is now important (yes, I'm buying all of the extra stuff, just to upgrade stuff). There's a lot of incentive to search for items/upgrades, and a lot more stuff as well.

It still has the Zelda problem of making the dungeon difficult as doing a handstand on the moon, and not making the boss satisfying to fight.

i don't find the dungeons difficult at all a few stumped me a few times but i figured it out fairly quickly. and so what if the bosses take a few more hits to kill that's good the boses in zelda have always been too easy. you can always use the power up and invincibility potions.

Too short, 100% finished, I liked it for the time I played it but was pretty annoyed when it finished short. I guessed it's because im used to playing games for 50+ hours. (over 2000 hours on gmod)

The game was good, but I feel everyone is trying to defend the game for being short

Actually, I'm enjoying myself quite a bit, and the only things I've missed (to my knowledge at least) were five heart containers, some Maiamais, the Pegasus boots, and the glasses. And that's the way I usually play these games. I get what I need, and leave the rest, simply to up the ante a bit (but still keep to a somewhat comfortable level, I'm not even going to attempt a three heart Hero Mode no death run :P).
Granted, I skipped out on the minigames, but I don't like doing them in any game. The Hero Mode run was a bit of a rush though, but that was due to the fact that I kept surviving somehow. I got more and more stoked, and started going faster and faster only to finally beat it without dying once. And it felt great :D.

More play time is nice, but not necessary as long as you enjoyed it. I paid 15 bucks for Journey (which is like 2 hours or something?) and didn't regret it even once. In fact, some games can even feel too long (like Okami).

What i meant is...the bosses are not difficult enough!

I've probably been playing for 10 hours and I've done 5 dungeons and 1 up to the boss which I'm going back to when I've got more master ores and hearts.

Its a decent game, a bit annoying at times due to the controls, but thats a personal preference. Some of the puzzles are annoyingly difficult for little reward or rupees, yet some of the items are gifted to you. But those niggles aside, I'm happy with it. But I don't think it comes close to comparing with the GBC games.
