I'm leaning towards the LG but the lack of microsd is making it harder to choose the LG.
(I already made a similar thread but it has a lack of replies)

If you can afford it I'd really recommend the Galaxy Note 3. It's very slim and is not as big as it sounds (it's much smaller than a 7" tablet like the Nexus 7 and should have no problems fitting into an ordinary pocket), it's a beast in terms of power, it has amazing battery life for a phone, plus you get the stylus which is really nice for certain things like playing osu!droid, drawing, and even handwriting recognition.
I've owned mine for a few days now and I love it. It's really snappy, everything runs great, and with at least twice the battery capacity of regular smartphones you won't be running to the charger as often as you otherwise would. I've been having lots of fun with osu!droid too :P
Granted if you have small hands it's probably not the best idea. I consider my hands big and have no problems using it one handed though two-handed usage is even better for this phone as you can type rapidly with two thumbs in portrait mode and make almost no typos at all because your fingers don't have to move much so there is less room for error.

Yeah, it is a bit pricy. I can afford it thanks to heavy subsidizing but I pay a lot more in the end :P
Then I guess go for the LG unless you think you will need more space than it offers. I am fed up with running out of space and not being able to expand it but I no longer have that problem now, the 32GB of my Note 3 plus the 32GB spare MicroSD I had provides plenty of space. It's almost full, but only because I put about 20GB worth of GC ISOs on it for testing out the Dolphin emulator so those can be removed at any time. I also installed a ton of HD games that take up maybe half of the internal memory and I feel no need to install any more as I have pretty much every HD game that interests me installed already.
If it's the 32 GB model then that may be enough as long as you don't install a lot of HD games.

I had a Galaxy S4 and I have a HTC One and Nexus 5. Personally I like the Nexus 5 the best. It may not have all the *features* the top dog devices have like IR, Special digitizers, sensors and goofy buttons. The N5 has much more features your more likely to use. Like the intergration of google now, Kitkat (its awesome), 8MP OIS camera, 5" ips screen with tiny bezel, and wireless charging. Also great apps like Open Mic+ and Light flow are a must have.

Overall I think the deal breaker is the price. $350-400 for a Nexus 5 make me feel Samsung and HTC ripped me off...

It all depends on what your going to do with your phone. Do you plan on gaming? Are you including emulation? Do you absolutely need a better battery or would a micro sd make up for it? Have you tried or read reviews on Touchwiz or LG's equivalent ?

I can say that both do the job well. I currently run GB, GBA, NDS, N64, SNES, NES, CPS2, PSP, PS1, all at acceptable speeds. I'm not sure how much the size of your collection is, but I think 32gb is a great amount of storage. I'd go with the LG if storage wasn't a concern. The LG also has the newest Snapdragon 800 processor and a bigger battery for some extra gametime.

HTC One, Galaxy S4, LG G2, Nexus 5 can emulate PSP, PS1, N64, DS, GBA ect ect and play Games at their highest specs so choosing shouldnt be a problem.
Do you like AMOLED or LCD screens? (N5 HTC One LG G2 are LCD and Sammy's are SAMOLED)
Have a screen size prefrence? (5" is a good start)
Battery size or wireless charging?
Hardware or soft buttons?
How about the Xperia Z, HTC One, HTC DNA/Butterfly, Nexus 4, Oppo N1, Xperia Z1?

The Nexus 5 is also a very acceptable phone mainly because of google's support and the reasonable pricing. I also think that OS preference should be considered--->Sense, Touchwiz, Stock

Battery size or wireless charging? That lasts over 8 hours.
Hardware or soft buttons? Both are okay.
How about the Xperia Z, HTC One, HTC DNA/Butterfly, Nexus 4, Oppo N1, Xperia Z1? Xperia Z1 Looks like a very good phone

Neither phones will last 8 hour on heavy usage. That's why I always buy external battery cases and you will have a had time finding one(or any accessories for that matter) for LG. S4 wins hands down for me.

I would pick neather get a nexus 5 if possible because look at nexus 4 its a beast of a phone even for today. I think the s4 its a small upgrade from the s3 and i dont think its worth the extra money. But its up to you try them out compare them in your hand see how they fit especially look at the screen quality and remember see how much they heat up under heavy load!
