When i rip my games from original CD to a USB hard disk by the WII console, itry to get the covers as well.

When trying to get the covers my WII crashes all the time. What could it be? Is the site where the covers reside down?

Is it possible to download the covers myself and put them somewhere on my usb disk or sd card?

Im am using both Configurable USB Loader and USB Loader GX, neither of them work. They initialise the network connection and them the screens freezes. I did an internet connection test in the WII system menu, and it succeeded.

What could it be that no cover gets downloaded?

Thx, Johan

Thx fot the reply,

- The usb loaders are on my SD card (it seems better if they are on the usb device, so they won't be there when the USB is switched off, won't they?). Should i just move the apps from the SD card to the USB device in the same folderstrcture for that to work?

- How do i see if something is in a "locked" position and how to unblock it?

Some more details about my setup.
- IOS236
- I ripped my original games to the USB evice with configurable USB loader.
They are in:
usb://wbfs/R25PWR_LEGO Harry Potter_ Years 1-4/R25PWR.wbfs
usb://wbfs/R25PWR_LEGO Harry Potter_ Years 1-4/R25PWR_LEGO_Harry_Potter__Years_1-4.txt

usb://wbfs/RBKP69_Boom Blox/RBKP69/RBKP69.wbfs
usb://wbfs/RBKP69_Boom Blox/RBKP69/RBKP69_Boom_Blox.txt

etc...

exactly version of cfg is?
your usb device is a Fat32?
for lock position, remove SD and take a look. it's easy to see that.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<app version="1">
<name>Configurable USB Loader</name>
<version>65 (release)</version>
<release_date>20110125000000</release_date>
<coder>oggzee, usptactical, gannon, Clipper,...</coder>
<short_description>Play from USB drive</short_description>
<long_description>

Waninkoko cIOS 249 is required!
Hermes cIOS 222/223 is supported.

</long_description>
<arguments><arg>ios=248</arg></arguments>
</app>

Yes USB device is FAT32

i just modded my WII with this same SD card, so i copied files to it, so i guess it's not in a locked stete?

my suggest is to update your cfg version and i'm almost sure that your cIOS are obsolete. so update also them.sorry but now I have to do and i haven't time to tell you more specific info about step to follow.

It was stupid! My modem/router was child protecting the IP address of the WII, and could not connect to the sites. Anyway, i used Actars WIIDownloader to update my system. many Thanks.

So after following actar's (thx) advice everything went fine... for a week. I'll try to describe what happened.

1. Since i didn't use Configurable USB Loader, i removed that program. Not by removing the files from my SD card, but remove/delete button when you start the program.

2. After that everything stayed working correctly, so i guessed i did the right thing.

3.Yesterday i noticed that all games on the USB HDD worked fine except Skylanders Giant, where the portal was not recognized.

4. After seraching the internet i found that i had to instal "d2x -8-final" (not sure of the spelling)

5. When starting MMM mod manager, i noticed my WII remote didn't work anymore in MMM/bootmii.

6. I thought it was because of removing CGF USB Loader, so i tried copying the files back to my SD Card.

7. Still no WII remote in MMM

8. As i saw BOOTmii when starting MMM, I re-copied the Bootmii files to the SD card.

9. Still no WII remote in MMM, but my console flickered several times and after that, the screen got an orange shine on the WII Home page instead of blue (PANIC)

10. Switched of the WII and did not start it since then.

What should i do? Is my WII bricked?

Format the SD card and start all over again? If so, can you tell me the step to do it right this time and make the skylander portal gets recognize?

Thx, Johan

    One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

    it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.

    Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
