Hardware r4i gold 3ds problem

hi my r4i gold 3ds doesn't work on my 3ds with the newest firmware, my friend says its because i accidentally turn off my ds while updating but he doesn't know how to fix it. it keeps saying: an error has occured(the rest you might know yourself). i still have my ds lite with a working r4 if i can do something with that. please help. there's a picture uploaded.

So the latest firmware of r4i doesn't work on your 3ds OR the r4i does not work on your 3ds (with latest firmware). If its the latter you'll need a DS lite to update your r4i
