Dark Souls PC internal rendering patch released (unofficial)

Just played a little bit ago with the fix. Definitely looks better, though that's still not saying much. It's a pretty shitty port, even with the fix. But hey, it works and it's pretty fun I suppose.

If it feels dated, that's probably because it is. Demon's and Dark Souls are the spiritual successors to the King's Field games, which, even in their time, were notorious for being slow and clunky. How and why on earth these newer titles became outrageously popular (to the point where everyone has heard of them, yet 'nobody' has heard of King's Field) is beyond me. Good graphics maybe?

If it makes you feel any better I'm fully aware of the King's Field series. My brother owns all the US releases and I believe all the similar style games they released in the PS1 and PS2 era. Hilarious games to watch and I still remember the first spike trap by the graveyard in King's Field 2(US).

-_- Damn traps. But yeah, they were cult classics. I was never a huge fan, but I always had respect for the series, and lo and behold it spawned a couple of games that a lot of people love (or at least complain about the difficulty).

It's funny how hackers/modders can do what game companies refuse to do.

That or the game companies simply know hackers/modders will do a job costing a large sum of money and time for free.
