Relax. I find it more of a hindrance than a deal breaker to only have one game on the mSD card at a time. It would be nice to not have to flash a rom to the mSD card each time I'd like to play a difference game. For $80 you're paying for a developing product and it's your choice to invest in said product. I'm sure if they can create a dual NAND system that they can create a simple system to allow multiple 3DS roms to be flashed to different partitions and then whip up a menu to select which partition to read from. Just give it a bit of time.

exactly yes it isa bit of a pain but still better than coughing up 40$ a game

They have more crazy stuff in store, I feel it B-)

Well for me, being that I like to have huge libraries, it is a deal breaker. There are only like 2 games I can think of I'd want to play,
3D mario and 3D Tetris anyhow... I'm a collector. I don't even play half the shit but I like to be able to, if someone wants a game,
have that game. My CycloDSI is 16 gigs full like I said so to me and people like me, yes, it is a huge issue because to people like me,
having a huge library is the main reason I get a cart.

I still, from a technical perspective, think the issue could be gotten around much easier than being compatible with the most recent firmware...
But all I hear is people complaining about the firmware compatibility.
In the cart it's self they have code to read the sd card. I'd think that could
be changed to read multi partitions if in fact they need 1 game per partition.

also you said youll wait till its fixed to get the 3ds and chip, honestly id get a 3ds asap if your really interested cause they are running out on 4.5 i called everywhere close to where i live and no more copyright 2012 anywhere

Actually it's a deal breaking issue - Since the dawn of time, every DS cart has always been able to have as much stuff as the card can hold.
In fact... There is no other card in history that I can think of with this particular "limitation" - What about the point that there are 2 main
reasons people buy carts - 1 - To get free games and homebrew 2 - To have a huge library all on 1 device

I'm not "complaining" - If pointing out facts is complaining then you simply don't understand what the word complaining means.

Now if I bought the thing and then came and cried about it's limitations then that is complaining...

I'm not complaining... I'm... In shock. hehehhe I'm reacting with amazement. The amazement of what people simply deal with.
To me, playing multiple games is far more important than being able to play the latest crap few games on current firmware.
And guess what? I'm positive I'm not the only person who thinks this way. To some, the fact that a cart lets you put a huge
library onto the device is more important than anything else. I'm simply one of those people and from that perspective, it's
pretty amazing that people are whining about not playing some pet game but they still can only put 1 game per card...

yes i think you are complaining , but i also think that gateway seems to be getting the more difficult tasks out of the way 1st , this is unusual for there to be NAND emulation before there is even a simple multi rom loader ,most of the time rom loaders come before NAND emulation , if they have already pulled off NAND emulation then a multi rom loader should be childs play at this point, i think gateway is doing the right thing by concentrating on NAND emulation 1st instead of a multi rom loader though because game compatibility which this ensures is much more important to their already installed user base than multi rom loading i am sure

they probably already have multi rom loading working in a crude state i bet ,after seeing the improvements to the gateway GUI i bet they just dont want to release a loader in a state where it is just a list of text ,they probably want to pretty it up a little 1st with proper game icons and such so it dont look like gateways v 1.0 fw GUI ,but they are busy with the more important things

- YES that is what I'm saying. The fact that all logic says it should be easier to make multi-rom loading than to have nand emulation
and/or higher firmware support. Are the ROMS decrypted? How come someone hasn't tried combining 2 roms in 1, like the multi
rom stuff on DS and other consoles? - Can they even execute code on it yet?

P.S. - YES the site is messing up, multiple posts are being posted and somehow, I've seen
replies to my posts appear BEFORE they are posted? Please delete duplicate posts. Thanks!

When they announced their first update, it took about a week in order to release, so I'd expect it fairly soon.

According to that comment I copied and pasted, a reseller was told that the new update would launch in the last days of October, so considering that is either next week and part of the week after, it's safe to assume that it's going to be about that: a week-week and a half.

Does the GATEWAY 3DS still ONLY let you copy 1 game per SD CARD?!?!

If so then I can not fathom why people are whining about compatible firmwares when...
THE FUCKING THING ONLY PLAYS 1 GAME AT A TIME! WHO THE HELL WOULD EVEN BUY THIS?!

And whatever happened to the WIIKEYU?
I'd have a WII-U if that shit was out! 8)

You bitch and complain about the Gateway only playing one game at a time, but you just mentioned wanting to buy an Optical Drive Emulator which ALSO PLAYS ONLY ONE GAME AT A TIME.

May I kindly ask what your logic is on that?

Oh and for those complaining about the one game at a time hindrance, the largest size of a 3DS game is 4gb, so you'd need an 8gb card. If you go on eBay, you can pick up an 8gb MicroSD card for around $6-7 a piece. You can get several and get a few cheap MicroSD cases and carry your games like that as I do. I take a few games in cases and they fit in my pocket. No biggie....

you are asking for a polished ultimate generation flashcart, to a first generation flashcart.

i you know some history in flashcarts, or modchips, you know that you are trolling hard. this is the first generation 3ds cart, dont ask for things that happen normally way into the future generations (versions) of flashcarts/modchips.

is like asking pandora's hack to be the first psp hack, with all the props and shiny things.

It still only plays one game at a time and you have to "eject" the disc and select another. Same with Gateway. You have to eject the SD card and pop another in.

But his issue is that a single medium doesn't store more than a single rom on it at a time so I'm not seeing the relation between that and ejecting a ODE. (Which just requires you to press Y on the 360, and Triangle on the PS3 to "eject" a disc.) His question for a ODE was irrelevant anyway so it'd be best for me to stop conversing about it before the posts get deleted for being off topic.

It is not that most of us are against being cheap, it is the extent and lengths of how cheap most people want to go that make them get labeled as whiners, etc.

In MENTALDOMINANCE's case, he is whining because of the fact he wants a game manager like what you find on a DS flashcart. It is also his lack of understanding of what effects encryption has on roms. Unless he can crack RSA 2048-bit encryption, his dreams of 2-in-1 roms, a game manager, homebrew, etc is nothing more than a pipe dream.
The rest of us are a little more practical and will take whatever we can get that the gateway flashcart can do.

Hey guys, thanks for helping me before, I have two questions : One, do I have to buy a new Micro SD Card each time I want to play a new game, AND, have you guys seen any fake Gateways/ ones that go out in 3 hours from acekard.ca? Are they trustable, and will the Gateway they sell work forever (Or for a long time? :L) I'm a shit noob at this, so please understand my nubness C;

If you format the card you should be able to put a new game on easily.

Mine literally just arrived and only have one game to test it with. :/

For all of your Gateway related questions, check out the tutorial video I did for my channel:

As for where to get it, I got mine at RealHotStuff.com. The US site is based out of New Jersey and they just got in a whole stock of them.

on windows i use the diskpart tool to wipe the card, then format and put a new game.
