Printers pretty much work out of the box with Linux, it's no where near he hassle of installing printer drivers like Windows.
And most of the businesses world won't actually lose anything if anything they will gain a more secure OS compared to Windows.

This x1000. You have a 90% chance that printers will ACTUALLY work out of the box without installing anything.

Printers are the least of the business world's problems. In my world, Android and Linux are useless because the software I use is not compatible by default with them, not to mention WINE couldn't run them because they are very high resource based 3D modelling programs that require powerful systems to operate efficiently. Unless they start releasing the GK110 version of Tegra and the processors are quad cores clocked about 2 Ghz, there is no way they would ever be able to even attempt to run the programs I use at work.

I agree in part there. However a lot of the CAD and 3d modelling stuff seems to be shifting back towards mainframe style and RDP is getting pretty good at transmitting 3d these days to say nothing of the online/"cloud" stuff.

Hmm....seems so many people hate Windows 8 (Windows H8 is what I call it) that alternative OS's got a serious boost in popularity. While Win H8 isn't the only reason for the alternative OS boon, it certainly was a major contributing factor. Let's just hope MS realizes the huge mistake they made with Win H8.

I use Windows 8 on my desktop and it's just fine.

...I like this idea. I mean yeah official software is nice, but laptops with full windows seem bloated and slow anymore. To get a decent one, you have to get a fat one that isnt really worth being called a "laptop". A "physically" and "softwarically" lighter laptop is fine with me, plus being able to choose from lots of free OSs? Sweet.
