I made my vote at about 5PM last night and was getting the "You haven't voted" error the rest of the day. When I woke up this morning, I just re-clicked the link in the confirmation e-mail and got the code nearly instantly (and this is when I posted this thread). Took only 14 hours, but I got the code in the end.
I also happened to get away with making 2 accounts and getting keys for both games but that's kinda against their ToS :unsure:
 
I voted like a week ago, then today I go look at my e-mail and see this.
Took 3 minutes and I had Civilization V on Steam.

Though I have not really played games this year I had a scan through the choices and they did not seem too bad save perhaps innovation of the year (even if I can not offer up any better ones) and youtube (though most of that is my general dislike of youtube game culture), I might have added a few more to Indie Game too. There was some possibly suspect choices in a few categories but they tended to not be without alternatives.

I don't like begging for stuff :P But you can't refuse Civ5 either :P I'll gladly take it, thanks a lot!

If I ever receive the key, I'll put it here for the first one to grab, just like you did with me :)

Give it time (the page says it'll take 24 hours at most for it to recognize your votes). If you used the same email for voting that you did for the GMG redemption page, you'll get it eventually. I just reclicked the link in the confirmation email after waiting about 14 hours and it sent me another email instantly with the code inside.

seem to be having a problem. Everytime i click i want my free game it says
It Seems there was a problem
Can you please try to register your details again, as we encountered a glitch in the matrix
