Hacking HBC aspect fix app by Tueidj

This is not LETTERBOX fix.
It's a 4:3 Ratio fix.

Problem is, the 4:3 issue is very useful when playing GCN or VC Channels from apps that do not offer aspect ratio correction by themselves. Playing GCN games with DEVOLUTION, or using some Triforce Loaders, for example. This could be corrected on our TVs by pressing the aspect ratio button on the tv remote controller. But when using them on the Wii U GamePad, they get stretched and that cannot be changed unless you boot them from the "distorted" HBC.

A HBC forwarder channel keeping the 4:3 ratio would be very useful, indeed.

Damn. Tueidj is freaking awesome. First gamecube playback on Wii U with devolution, and now this fix in less than a day. This man deserves a metal.

I've modified JoostinOnline's original forwarder. Channel ID now is LHBC. HBC boots in a 4:3 aspect ratio format.

Though I've realized this is not needed until tueidj releases a permanent fix, as the actual fix has to be applied everytime you boot the HBC from the system menu.

I think I'll stick to JoostinOnline's previous forwarder until tueidj releases a proper fix or a new HBC version.

Just place it in the apps folder and boot de dol file from the HBC. Everything will get fixed.

no, it's only an app to switch between 4:3 and 16:9 mode. It works like this:
1. put the boot.dol and the meta.xml file into a folder inside the apps folder
2. run HBC
3. HBC starts up in 4:3 mode
4. run tueidj's app from HBC
5. his app switches back to 16:9 mode and returns to HBC
6. NOW run whatever app you want from HBC now that 16:9 mode is restored

The nice thing is it includes the code for how to do it. It takes, literally, ONE line of code to make the switch so any app could add it's OWN code to remove the 4:3 letterbox during startup.

That's just awesome but has anyone tried it? I'm going nuts changing the TV mode because the controller doesn't have a dedicated button for it

Just use this if you don't want to run an app everytime:

I made the forwarder as fast as possible, so you shouldn't even notice a difference in timing.

Then try JoostinOnline's app, it adds a forwarder for the HBC, but the change is permanent.
