I get painful cramps in lower parts of my thumbs after long play sessions so much that I cant continue playing( after an hour or so). I looked around and found this:

Black Plastic Hand Grip Holder Case

Has any of you guys tried something like this? Do they make it more comfortable to use the console?

I can't comment on grips for the 3DS, but I have one for my PSP. They can be a little inconvenient if you are constantly putting the device in a case or your pocket. However, mine makes my PSP far more comfortable to hold.

Yes but the thing is I always put my 3DS on my backpack so it is not that much of a hassle.

My friend uses http://www.amazon.com/DreamGEAR-Nintendo-3DS-XL-Comfort-Grip/dp/B008XHCLFO for his XL and claims it is a great buy.

The only game I get hand cramps on is Mario Kart 7, so I haven't invested in such a thing. Can't say how good it is :(
These do seem nice, but unfortunately the postage is almost as much as the cost and they dont have it in amazon uk...do you know of any reliable shops that have them?

Hmm, I couldn't see anything. The ones on eBay might be the closest, but idk how well they work.

I have a plastic ebay bought one for my PSP go which I love (makes it so much more comfortable), but it is of course a gamble.

Play-asia might have other listings for similar items. Not sure what the shipping costs to you would be, but they are reasonable to the U.S and Australia, as long as you don't mind waiting.

the plastic grips are boss. just get the cheap-as-dirt no name china hard plastic ones, they are the best.

dreamgear grips are garbage, they are soft silicone rubber. so not only does it feel weird, but dust and dirt sticks to it, and is hard to clean off.

I'd love to get a controller grip for me 3DS.
However "no name china hard plastic ones" usually don't exactly sit flush with the handheld.
I'd say a rubbery one would be better.
Or soft plastic.

I bought one from some other site (not on the top of my head) and it fits perfectly suprisingly. Only thing is that once it's in, its hard to get out.

just got them an put my 3ds in it...

its ok but it couldway better
-the silicon is thin and feels cheap
- its just 2 a 3 millimetres to large so its isnt very tight

around the touch screen it fits perfect but at the upper screen its a little bit to large
