Xbox Responding to Gaikai~

...who told you guys that Gaikai is going to be a paid service? At no point in time did Sony ever say that, to the contrary - they clearly said that games will require re-purchasing as the streamed versions and the downloadable versions are not one and the same, so you pay per game, not for the service. If Gaikai will work along the lines of all the other streaming services, and it most likely will, you will only pay for a select game once and you'll be able to stream it to your heart's content which is the whole point.

Good point. I'm still trying to find where I got that from but I can't seem to find anything.

Nothing points to that either. If anything it will be tied into the service if Xbox live, much like "Cloud" saves and other services work.
Xbox has even stated before that the cloud is all apart of the Xbox live experience.

Personally I'd like the PS4 to able to read your PS3 disc then offer a reduction in price.. then again that brings up your original point anyway (plus there's the fact you could simply borrow a friends disc for a day etc etc).

Like has been said it's decent for rare/expensive stuff (Wii U VC Earthbound for instance, or perhaps PS1 Grandia on PSN) but for once I'm agreeing with you: having VC games running on the Wii U gamepad is a bonus feature (especially for me when I can't get on the telly coz of the kids), but here, since there's no advantage whatsoever to be had, just play the soddin games on your older machines! BC is fine, but I'd rather have the time & effort going in to making this happen being spent making new content...

Actually for select PS3 games, you can pop them in the PS4, enter a code that came with the game, and are able to get the PS4 version digitally for only $10. So far it's only CoD: Ghosts, Asscreed IV, Battlefield 4, and Watch Dogs though.

Really? Didn't know that one actually, I was assuming it was just a receipt thing. Well since the software's already in there then Sony, how about streaming your PS3 collection on PS4 if the game's in the disc tray for free??
And don't forget remote play on Vita/Vita TV peeps - I'd forgot all about this on my last post!! ...Enjoying the Wii U gamepad gaming like I said, I'm suddenly starting to see the advantages of this! (Not on Xbone though, that can get stuffed! )

...because it sure as hell matters who did what first - who does what "right" is completely irrelevant.

When it comes to streaming games, I am not quite sure there is a right... Some reviews of Onlive where good, some where terrible.

I think the difference boiled down to physical location on the planet compared to where the servers where located, if you lived close by and could get good ping times on a fat pipe you enjoyed it. If how ever you are in the majority and lived far away from the servers and had slow connection your going to think that load times are a god send as your game stutters and freezes randomly. (Watch some of the bad reviews on youtube of Onlive.)

At any rate all of this is interesting to me, I wonder what technical solutions they will come up with.

At least on the Xbox One and PS4 with the storage they have and all that RAM maybe they can cache more of the game locally and hide some of the bandwidth issues.

GaiKai needs competition, otherwise it might not perform up to expectation

how about fuck Gaikai and play on the PS3?

I don't see any reason to get the PS4 right now...the only title that looks noteworthy is Watch_Dogs..And I already pre-ordered that For PS3

as for the PS4 exclusives: the Crew. Drive Club and Second Son look pretty awesome...but nothing I can't live without on day one
