Animal Crossing doesn't use AP, it just has a NAND chip which gateway needs to emulate so the game can save.

Interesting. Pretty sure it has *some* kind of AP though, as from what I've heard if you dump your save (using one of the USB save dongles), play a bit, then restore your save, it won't work and will subsequently erase your game. Sounds like more than just a NAND chip to me.

That's just because of how it reads and verifies the save. It was an issue before the gateway was even out.

And backing up and restoring saves is not piracy, so it's not AP (Anti-Piracy).

I have a R4 SDHC Dual-core "smart update" card, the white one with silver label with NEW in the top right corner and I mistakenly updated without thinking earlier and my card now says "an error has occured"

Is it knackered? According to Pongs list its been blocked? Is there no way around it at all?
