But I said I can't imagine playing on a PS3 controller. Console FPSes turn me off when I think about playing them without a mouse.

I do play Borderlands 2 with a Dualshock 3 on PC, plays very well. I mostly play on my bed that's why I use gamepad most of the time but when I can use the mouse, I'm a laptop user.

that being said I think I'm getting a copy of Borderlands 2 for Vita.

Why buy this when the big screen version is much cheaper? All these ports are the main reason I've yet to consider a vita. I can handle proprietary cards but no games? It's getting annoying how stagnant gaming has become.

Got bored of BL2 on PC, but I could see myself playing it a lot more during lunch at work.
Probably a day one or very-near-launch purchase for me. Can't wait.

I wonder when people will learn the term "portability"
Unless you lug your PC (laptops aside) or console+tv around on the bus and such, there's PLENTY of reason to get these ports.
Generally I play a game a LOT more consistently on my Vita/3DS than I do on PC.

People who don't NEED portable gaming, don't need a Vita. It's rather simple. I always found it odd when people primarily play handhelds at home. I always tried to avoid that and only did it for games I was in love with, like 999 or Zero Escape.

The vita part I do not know enough about to dispute, however the other part I will have to query. The handhelds feature arguably the best versions of tetris available at the time, the best attempts at a whole lot of gameplay styles that have fallen by the wayside in recent years (adventure, early arcade stuff, straight up 2d action games), more than serviceable attempts at a lot of other types of games (things like bomberman) as well as a whole lot of interesting gameplay types done large that were not really done elsewhere. Plus the usual Nintendo stuff if you like that sort of thing (myself not so much which I why I care little for the 3ds and find myself increasingly considering other options).

I primarily play handhelds at home (for exclusives, that is). If every 3DS/Vita game was also a PC game, I would have no need for it, but unfortunately, I have to buy an extra console or two to play games from my favorite series/franchises.

I have seen a few Vita games that I would want to play, but only one that actually makes me want to get a Vita (Persona 4 Golden), whereas there's a ton of games I wanted to play on the 3DS. If P4G was on the 3DS instead, I would have got a 3DS much sooner.
