Sonic is my life. I own, like, every game (even '06, thought I don't have Shadow or Black Knight, however).

The reason I love Sonic so much is because it's the first game I ever played.
Surely by '06, Secret Rings, Heroes and all those mediocre spinoffs, you've considered burning down your collection. ;)

Well personally, I like Heroes
and 06 is kinda fun, if only for all the glitches and how you can abuse gems.
Can't stand Secret Rings though.

Where's your copy of Sonic Crackers?

It's real alright, but the cart doesn't have a label.

Is that a bootleg or a fan thing? I know for sure that can't be official.

that is the first sonic prototype
it was never released except for a leaked rom

The box insert I made myself. I have the PCB inside a donor cart from some sports game.

As for the cart or rom itself it's really one of the more common Genesis prototypes out there. This guy at Sega had access to the entire QA database, took some loose carts out of the trash in the factory and rewrote all sorts of prototypes on em. He tried selling them through EFnet and other means back in the day. In the genesis days Atari prototypes were all the rage so he ended up just giving some away with other big sales. Poor guy has gone through multiple "gotta pay the bills so I'm selling everything" episodes including a physical Sega Neptune mockup.

The various sized carts he used are why there are overdumps of the game with data and art from an unknown TMNT prototype. Sonic Crackers itself is a very small game with no saving. On the real hardware it crashes on the A of the Sega logo screen because of poor Z80 sound init programming. You have to start the "game" really quickly.

Well I knew about the History of Crackers already but that is cool for a fan-made box.

Well, I've played a ton of Megaman games. The only ones I haven't played are some of the Gameboy ones and the Zero/ZX ones (and Legends 3, screw you Capcom). But I'm not one of those people who keeps their games after they're done with them. So I don't really have a collection. The only games that I have kept that I don't intend to sell are Xenosaga Episodes 1-3. Possibly because Xenosaga 3 may be my favorite game of all time (but it's up against Final Fantasy 7, so who knows).

Speaking of, I used to be a huge fan of Final Fantasy, but like how others have mentioned, the quality of their releases has declined. I haven't played 13 or 13-2, but from what I hear, I wouldn't enjoy 'em.

To be fair I think all Sonic games have actually been quite shit except like... the first three. Even the later games are just faux-platforming that's really just "Press right to win" with the occasional cheap pitfall.

Have you seen Generations or Lost World footage? They're amazing games!

I used to be a BIG fan of Sonic, but I've just lost interest in a few months.

I played half of Sonic '06, and it's not THAT bad.

I've heard Generations was pretty bleh and I couldn't care less about Lost World.

Also I played Colors and it wasn't that good guys.

*fanboy rage commences*
But seriously, I love Generations. Play it every day
though that's probably because I'm a fanboy

And yeah, 06 is pretty terrible, especially Silver.

I'm not quite sure who told you Generations was bleh, but it's probably the best recent Sonic game.

Colors was enjoyable, Generations was great. My only qualm with it was that I had no idea where I was going because it was too fast. But Lost World fixes that.
