Hello all, for the last couple of years, I have been using Dolphin on Arch Linux without any problems. However, I recently reinstalled the OS, and since then have had problems with my Wiimote on Dolphin.

This first occurred yesterday when I was trying to play Mario Kart Wii. I initially selected VS Race but changed my mind and wanted to go Grand Prix. However, I found the back button wasn't working and soon after the Wiimote disconnected with that message "Wiimote disconnected by emulated software". I tried disconnecting the nunchuck and trying again: same issue.

To confirm it wasn't an MKWii issue, I tried other games. Same problem. The Wiimote takes a lot longer to connect to Dolphin than usual and when it does, it disconnects within a few seconds of the game loading.

The Wiimote is still detected in Blueman and pairs/trusts/connects fine. I tried both with and without it being trusted and paired and had the same issue.

While I did restore my backup of the Dolphin folders I made before reinstalling my OS, I tried moving them so new ones could be created in case there was a configuration problem. This did not fix it.

I do not have my Wii on me to test if the remote works, but I did play on the Wii fairly recently (a few weeks ago) and had no problems with the remote. The Wiimote battery is fully charged and I have tried multiple pairs of batteries with the same result.

My Dolphin version: 2603a

Hope someone can help.

UPDATE: After further investigation, I found other Bluetooth peripherals such as my Xbox controller and my headphones also had stability problems. I decided to open up my laptop to check the WiFi/Bluetooth card and it seems when transporting my laptop, one of the connectors for the card became disconnected. After reconnecting the card and ensuring both wires were attached, I tried again and encountered no problems. So for anyone who stumbles upon this post with a similar issue, check your wireless card!

I really hate the error "disconnected by emulated software", since it implies it is the game disconnecting from the Wiimote and not the computer, as it was in my case.
