I guess They shall not be able! as well as the 3dbrew team has not been able !

It's quite reasonable, but I think it is still possible. Since the 3dbrew team did not release any possible solution, at least they did not publish, the Gateway 3DS team probably have their own tricks.

Moreover, I think it's quite possible for them to break the 6.20. As they use a ds card to initialize their system, I guess the cracking point might relate to ds mode. The ds mode is already cracked, so the same mechanic should work for the later firmware, at least the firmware released before this card.

I ran the gateway installing on my 5.0 xl with a dstwo because i wanted to see it in action. It all went smoothly. But one thing I noticed was after I rebooting the system, it didn't nag me to update! I don't know if it means anything but I thought I'd report it so others can look into it. Very interesting

I can confirm that. 3DS 4.5.10-E. After putting R4 Gold Pro (old 2012 version from http://www.r4i-gold.com/en/product/) with copied files (SD card without Launcher.dat on it) into 3DS slot, update window didn't show up. However after putting Launcher.dat on SD card, no installing. I am sad :(

On 5.0 and can confirm. Even after resetting the gateway patch (by going into DS mode) I still don't get the update window.

Thanks for the additional confirmation. It probably wont lead to anything but at least it gets rid of the annoying update message.

If you're speaking of the "New Gateway Update 29/07/2013" thread, that one died a few days ago.

So it has to be 4.5 exactly? 4.5.10 u will not work? Thanks
The kernel vulnerability was first patched in version 5.0.0-11, so technically, if the the 1st number in the firmware is a 4 or less, you're good. That keeps it nice and simple to understand.
