Hacking unsloved mystery..please help me solve it

i have dsi xl with 1.41e firmware with R4 3ds from the r4ids.cn guys,good card hardly used,updated to work with 1.45e ds & 4.44 3ds.

the problem which i don't understand is: i just bought a used 3ds with firmware 4.2.0.9e i did not have any games for it so i thought i will try it with the R4 card,i took the R4 out of the dsi xl & put it in the 3ds the game icon shows up & i click A only to be greeted with the An error has occured message so i thought that was funny because the R4 is updated to work with highier firmware,so i took the R4 out of the 3ds & put it back in the DSi XL only to get the same error message !!!!!!!! i then formatted the micro sd card thinking it might be corrupted & downloaded latest software from r4ids.cn website but i still get the same error message !! what is going on here ? any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

It doesn't seem like a known/answered problem though. Basically from what I understand:
A: OP has flashcard that works on DSi 1.4.1 at least.
B: Puts it in 3DS, doesn't work.
C: Puts it back in 1.4.1 DSi, suddenly doesn't work any more.
The only thing I can think of is that the flashcard was not updated properly and the DSi somehow got updated in the meantime, but that would be odd.

i checked the firmware on the dsi xl & its still on 1.4.1E so it hasn't updated !! to me it seems like the micro sd slot no longer recognizes micro sd cards because the R4 icon still shows up but when i press A i get the error message. what puzzling me is what did the 3DS do to the R4 card i have searched google but can't find anyone with the same issue !!

try to get one DS/Lite and test it, if it works, try to upgrade again,but if it does'n work... well, you'll have to buy another one... and this time, buy SuperCard DSTwo, since EZ-Flash left their cart, SuperCard Team is the only one how give us a very good FlashCart. you are right it looks like i'm going to have to buy a new card,it's not for me so any card will do fine but i will be damn scared to try any flash card in this 3ds again.

what happened to this R4 is still a mystery to me.
