Hardware Best $800 laptop?

An i7 with an integrated GPU is going to be worse than an i5 with a dedicated GPU. The i7 doesn't actually offer things the average person uses, and above a limit the CPU doesn't do anything for games (they're GPU-limited in almost every case).

Yeah, I learned that the hard way. Should have gotten a laptop with an i5 instead of an i7. Since it also has a hybrid GPU (HD 3000 with a GT555M), it gets hot as hell if I don't use a cooler. Even with it, I get up to 85 Celsius without it, 93 to 94. Yeah, Lenovo should have put an i5 in the Y570 instead.

That's worse for gaming that one with a gaming-oriented card (or at least gaming-oriented integrated chipset).

So the amd would be my best bet? I cant find any bench marks on it.
Well lets forget about gaming for a minute, if I just want to use it for work it should be speedy?

Upgrading laptops for gaming is not feasible, so if you intend to game that should be the primary focus. The AMD one should be fine for normal work as well. Benchmarks for specific laptops are not feasible (as they're just a specific combo of parts), look up benchmarks of the individual parts instead.

I didnt say anything about upgrading gpu, as I said before I still have my 360 I lug around with me.
Think I'll just go with the i5 model, the fact its upgradeable to 16gbs of ram and 2tb hdd should serve me fine my only worry is wondering how better envy is compared to the g eries since I had an hpg6 die on me from after 1 year of use. Would of been awesome if it had a backlite keyboard but eh, since leap motion ships this month no ones going to really need touchscreen notebooks anymore.
I could always upgrade the fancy stuff later I can even add bluray to it from what I know. Should be fine for Indie games such as xbox live arcade style games.
