I just finished the first world. The levels are rather short. It plays different to the original game because Luigi is faster and can, of course, jump higher. And you have to be fast because the time limit is low. The levels a little bit harder than in the original game.
The game is fun. If the other levels are like the first ones, it will be a great dlc and worth the money. Although the levels are short there is a lot to do.

edit: The Pro controller can now be used!

[Based on the first world]

Took longer then you'd think to get it (Have to update NSMBU, then download it from Eshop, then start NSMBU and wait for it to install), but otherwise I would agree with Orcid. The levels are certainly are a lot shorter but are well designed and play nicely to Luigi's strengths. The star coins, at least to me, certainly seem harder to get then in the regular game, mostly because of the time limit. It's usually not a problem to beat the level with time left, but the star coins take extra time.

Overall, it seems well worth the 20$ so far.

BTW, for those wondering you start NSMB like you normally would and then tap "Play New Super Luigi" on the main screen to play, and it gives you a different save selection screen. You can't play directly from the Wii U menu.

It's $10 more (totaling USD $30), not 2x. But IMO, the physical copy is only for collector's (like me)

I don't consider myself a collector but I am still going to wait for the physical copy. The box is cool, you don't take up memory, you can loan it out, you will require a disc anyway even if you go DLC, if your one disc gets lost or damaged you only lose 1 game instead of 2. I am just annoyed I have to wait so long.

Tried yesterday to purchase this from inside NSMBU. My Nintendo account is on UK but my credit card is Romanian aaaaaand i got a credit card details error 2 times, but also it was charged 2 times :)
I have paid with this Visa CC all over the world, UK included and never got a problem. Do they really verify the bank nationality? Did any other of you had this kind of problem?

REALLY want the retail box to add to the collection, as well as not having to deal with nintendo's dlc policies if my wiiu suddenly dies.
If im really itching to play some mario, then i may buy the dlc but since im not right now, i can wait it out till August comes.

Only downside i see from getting the retail version besides the extra 10 is having to switch discs if i want to play the original version, instead of what im assuming would be a menu option in the original if the dlc is purchased.

It's really more. First it's that $10. Then, it's another $2 in taxes. Then, it's a loss of $2 worth of deluxe digital points. So that makes $14. Oh, plus if you get the retail copy, you don't get the extra club Nintendo coins, so you lose out on those too.

I bought the DLC yesterday while i was a little bit drunk :)
But i don´t regret it at all, i tried the first level fast and it seems fun.

Also, it´s always nice to show support for the WiiU...

But im pretty pissed that the game is 20 USD, and 200SEK

20 USD = 138 SEK (with todays exchange rates)

Is there anyway around that?

Played first two levels , i can see this game getting extremly hard , with the time limit and added difficulty and trying to obtain coins . Looks like its going to be worth the £17.99 i paid...

Honestly, it seems like Nintendo wanted a way to quickly push out something to make some $$ from. So they said hey we'll make really short levels with limited time to save time/money and tell people we did that to make it more challenging. And with Newer being out I'm kind of burnt on NSMB. I'll pass.

It definitely has a different feel to it than Mario between the level design and the way Luigi controls. He's got so little traction trying to stop. Fun game from what I've played.

This game is hardcore. The difficulty is pretty brutal and I have only got through the first 3 worlds.

I couldnt wait for the disc and went ahead and bought it.
