Hardware Firmware Update 4.45 Is Out

One of the key features is the ability to turn off the trophy notifications. Who requested this?! I can't see myself ever turning it off. Anyone here actually excited about this feature?

I personally don't care, but some people may be annoyed at a tacky, noisy popup in the middle of a dramatic story scene.

Is this a joke, there is an update for something like that. Ha how would this be useful
If you turn it on you wont get a notification and you wont be able to tell what trophy you got

DO NOT UPDATE!!
Many people have reported problems with the update such as:
- Boots to PS3 logo and then blank sparkly screen with no response
- Dualshock won't connect
- Can't rebuild the file system via recovery menu
You can try your luck but I would not recommend it.

Um some users are reporting problems with that update. Mainly the console locks up on the ribbon boot-up screen. You might want to wait if you didn't updated yet

I updated and it works perfectly fine thank goodness

The no trophy notice is actually a pretty nice feature for any one that is into recording game play. I am CFW'd up though so I wont be bothering with this till(hopefully)Rogero releases an update

From what I gathered, the PS3 super slim updates just fine and it seems 500GB drives and below have no problems after updating.
I would still wait for Sony however.

Good to know. PS3 slim 320GB, here; updated just fine.

Not taking any chances. I'm waiting till Sony fixes that update, i don't care about PSN for the moment, as long as i can stream things from my PC.

Same here, I would test it out myself but I recently upgraded to 500GBs and don't want to risk it...

My 250GB Super Slim updated just fine, thank goodness. I should remind myself to read up on firmware updates before updating.

This reminds me when Nintendo released an updated and bricked people's Wii.
