ok so they say the console comes with 500gb yeah, but when you take into account that every game is a mandatory install the space will go quickly. they said you can upgrade hdd using extra devices, whats the beting they don't let you use any make and you have to buy a specific Microsoft model, which will be about 200gb for 90 quid or something

Dont be so sure. On my PC I constantly have half of my Steam library installed along with other programs and media and I still maintain around 200 GB at all times. I also have 500 GB.

Don't worry - you'll get the storage space of three XBox One's if you connect it to "The Cloud". :ninja:

...seriously though, you probably won't need more than 500GB's at a time. Even if the games are 25GB each (and that's not very likely), that's still enough storage for 20 games - are you really going to play all of them? Out of space? Delete a game and re-install it when you want to play it again - simple. ;)

are you really going to play all of them

That's what I always say to people wanting 2 TB drives connected to their Wii's and have them solely for their Wii.
Along with people that want every *console/handheld name* game made.

Are you really going to play all of them ._.

With the Wii it's even more ridiculous since a 2TB drive could practically hold the entirety of Wii's game library (at least the part that's worth a damn), the whole Gamecube library and then some. Seriously, what's the point? Scrolling through all this would take longer than actually playing any of the games. :unsure:

But, but, but... the collecting... of ISOs.. with so much value! You just can't go wrong!

As a serious note, the console apparently will have a 500 GB HDD, but as it has USB 3.0, you can also use external HDDs. Game sizes will grow during the generation, so more is better. An easy example is Uncharted for the PS3. The third game is huge compared to the previous games.

It's going to be 50GB tops if they go the "Dual Layer BluRay" route. ;)

True, but then again, they can go the multi-disc route too. Ooh the horror of multiple dual layer BR discs ;O;

Technically there are already 100/128GB BluRay discs (BRXL) and even larger ones are in the works, so they don't have to go to such extremes. :P

I so agree with you on that.
However, it doesn't seem to make sense for others.

Holodisc as storage medium next?

How much room is there in the "Cloud" that is actually the NSA servers? That is the pace it will have. You can "Install" to the cloud, it will be miraculous;-)
