I've decided to make a new thread dedicated solely to Fable. In this thread, I will be posting pictures of Fable the cross fox, a pet whom belongs to a friend I met on an exotic pets forum. After collaborating with her via PM, she allowed my parents and I to visit them. He is a cross fox and absolutely adores people; prior to this, I wasn't one to think cross foxes were all that cute, but boy I am glad that I was proven wrong! They're absolutely adorable and not only that, but I got to walk him as well!

Note: I will be showing a picture of myself holding Fable, but keep in mind that I am very self-conscious of showing myself outside of Facebook, but I am making an exception because I got to do something very few people get to do :P He is very much domesticated and is also a very hyper bundle of fluff  He tried numerous times to chew my shoelaces, stealing my camera case and letting me chase him in his owner's backyard.

He's just an absolute sweetheart.
Despite Fable's hyper behavior, he was like Skitter, very affectionate and amiable.

Again, I will have a picture of me holding Fable, something I never thought I'd have a chance to do, a very rare and special opportunity to say the least. He was very calm while I held him in my arms, and while I did so, I felt at peace, I bore no anxiety. I just felt very elated as I held an exotic pet :D I rarely post pictures of myself on the internet, so please bear that in mind ;)

This will be very image-heavy, :P Enjoy!

This is the first wave, second wave coming later today :D Foxes always close their eyes when they're happy

Glad you like them! My apartment's internet sucks big time, so right now, I'm using my university's gigabit connection :D How I wish I had it at home lol

I hear ya mate.
All I want is just a stable connection.
Not one that drops from 1MB/s to 50KB/s and stays at 50 KB/s for days >_>

Mine isn't quite that bad, but it's still pretty bad. While it hasn't dropped in a long time (like when I first moved in the complex), it doesn't meet the basic needs of the students, as stated in the contract. It often gets me upset, BUT, when I get upset, I just look at the pictures I have of Fable and Skitter; they both make me feel very calm, warm and fuzzy inside. It sounds cheesy, I know, but there's something about animals, especially foxes that helps me get through a rough day of work or school :D

brb, need to find a way to get a pet fox. Sooooo cute!

I know right? Fable's too cute for his own good. Where I live, it's very difficult to get one due to city ordinances, BUT where Fable's owner lives (16 KM from where I live), it's more lax to have a fox :P

I'll definitely post another wave today, I just want to make sure people soak in as much cuteness as possible  I don't want them to get cuteness poisoning, oh wait, yes I do! There have been too many depressing things happening in the world, I need a little sanctuary to see a cute fox, and this is the right place!

Trying really hard not to squeal like a 5 year old girl

Oh no worries, there's no shame in having yourself reduced to such a state. I speak in falsetto (well close to it) when interacting with adorable animals, especially foxes and other canids :P
Nothing condescending about using baby talk with animals, I find it that it makes bonding with them easier ;) In fact, I'm fascinated in the whole psychology behind animal-human relationships and the benefits; they are very profound and beneficial to our mental well-being.

They require a lot of attention at a young age, but having a fox as a pet was a million times more rad then a wolf or raccoon.

Oh definitely, they're very hyperactive animals as they have seemingly endless amounts of energy. But it was an unforgettable experience to say the least and is something I would love to do once more. I'm sure Fable's owner wouldn't mind if I asked to go over to her house in the near future. But on the topic of foxes, I will be starting an internship where I go an animal sanctuary, which houses yet another super adorable fox named Skitter, which was posted in my other fox thread :D When Fable saw me though he went crazy and took my camera case, so we had to entice him with food to get it back :rofl2:. I believe he's two years old and in captivity, they can live around fifteen years, which isn't bad at all. What amazes me is that something that was once considered to be a wild animal by many can be domesticated to the point of be so loving and show that affection to people, stranger or not.

Yeah, raising animals fall on the trainer/owner, if you put the time into it, the results can be amazing, though if you neglect them you'll have a feral fox killing every little thing that's smaller than it. Raccoon I mentioned was bad about getting into the fridge, but at one point I taught it to bring me bottles, which was either beer or soda, or steak sauce other time.

I absolute hate comments on YouTube where people bitch about the animal being a prisoner, abused or tortured in some way. I figure that as long as the animal is being loved, taken care of and is happy, what does it matter? People have a right to have a companion, especially a pet. I personally don't know if/when I'd ever get a pet fox, but deep down inside, I would really love to have one as a pet, the thing is, like you said, taking care of one is a full time job in and of itself, but very rewarding, as the fox will return the favor. I have seen this numerous times, albeit in my limited experience, of just how deep that bond can go :D They're fluffy, cute, quirky, quixotic, and did I mention cute?
