So pumped, but wheres the version for aus/europe.
Or can i get one from the currently available stores?

I'm surprised at how many people are complaining about the price and that it - right now - requires the games to be stored on separate memory cards.

The card is first gen tech people - Of course it's going to be expensive, and of course it's going to have some annoying limitations. This is a separate system. You can't expect that a 3DS card is going to have all the features, abilities, of a NDS card, or be of the same price.

Still tempted to buy one. Not a whole lot of games that interest me though - Just the SMT games and Princess Code.

I just hope it works with the latest firmware..I think most people updated assuming there would never be a card available..at least that is what I did, I would be totally bummed to find out I am looking forward to a card that I cant even use

I guess it's because a lot of people have been spoilt by the DS flashcarts we have now. Not sure how many people actually had experience with the old GBA flashcarts and all their cables, software and what not.

If you want one from AU, drop an email to bamboogaming and ask if they will be stocking the 3DS flashcart.

Otherwise accept it that your going to be ordering from a HK site like the majority that want one.

One mSD per game, eh?

What'cha gonna do? Swap and transfer games on the mSD every time you want to play something different? Itsy-bitsy labels on each mSD? Bunch of those clumsy little mSD cases with the game titles written on a slip of paper in them? Some elaborate case to hold and label each game's mSD so you know which game is which? Wow, that sounds like it could be annoying at best and messy at worst.

They REALLY need to come up with a way to put multiple games on a single large mSD before this is actually viable.....to me anyway.

That honestly does not sound that bad to me. I still miss the NinjaPass flashcart. That thing was absolutely BRUTAL to look at.

To bring you upto speed on options for microSD swapping and carrying them, the links are self explanatory:

Well, its really no less convenient than official 3ds cards. And it's certainly more, um, economical. yar.

There is also a future chance of a file manager, according to the team. I don't see how they can manage that without a DS mode or 3ds mode homebrew, so its not likely.

edit- Maybe a DS homebrew app could be developed to manage the microSD so all you have to do is carry an extra DStwo around to swap games. Just a thought.

$80 is entirely reasonable considering that it pays for at least what is at market now. If it can handle everything up to SMT4 and I hadn't bought any games yet it'd be a valid purchase for someone who prioritizes solely on cost effectiveness and none of the moral relativism of piracy.

That being said... I have already bought a number of mediocre games (which is most of the 3ds library) and I'd like to see the odds of this thing sticking around longer first. Or what similar product comes out soon after.

The one-game one-SD thing is irrelevant in my opinion. Finish a game and swap it out. If you have some kind of ADD compulsion that demands you play each game for twenty minutes as you cycle your entire library I'm not sure what can be done for you.

This is progress and I hope it does well.

I'd imagine it would. Does anyone happen to know what firmware the white 3DS XL shipped with in Europe by chance? My memory is a bit foggy, but I don't think you have to be updated to play 3DS game online do you?

well one of my spare 3DS XL's i got White With mario Kart 7 Pre-installed came with 4.1.0-8 pre-installed and is tucked away like that

well with Mario Kart if you dont have the 1.1 update you cant play online and you need to get that from the E-Shop

Paper Mario will udpdate EUR Consoles to 4.4.0-10 and USA to 4.3.0-10

Hopefully, it'll be able to store multiple .3ds files on the msd with only one of them being playable. Supposing that the cart will look for a BOOT.3DS on the root of the msd, it should be okay to store other .3ds files in folders (possibly hidden folders) and swapping games on a larger msd will involve some sort of re-arranging/re-naming of files on a computer. I'd be okay with this; but I'm probably completely wrong.

that's like moving X game from your PC to the SD every time you want to change the game

This is really good. However I think I will be leaving it a few months before they iron out the problems. Currently don't like the one game per micro sd card. How big are 3DS games anyway?
