Yeah i suggested using txt talk to short the amount of text used, But everyone seems to agree it would look horrible
Has there been any games for the PSP where this issue was overcome? I've seen numerous games where this came up and was never resolved (IE left incomplete, not that I'm suggesting that here )
not really, some projects have compensated by using abbreviations and shorthand.but that's still not enough sometimes. not to mention it ruins the the translation. the manner of speech, tone, and dialect are all lost this way.
The way our editor works abbrevations won't help.
Currently I can't insert text without losing SENSE, not to speak of tone and dialect.
But at no point this project will be abandoned. It is just taking way more time than expected, but we all know that the PSP is in romhacking terms a considerably new system, it took years till hacks in SNES and GBC reached the stage they are in now.
So, I guess patience is what we need. Eventually it wil be solved or localized. Whatever comes first. And well, in the end either solution would serve the fans, so, um I guess, just wait?XD
Some good news I just found in case anyone was wondering.

Wouldn` t shortening the text at least make the iso playable or has this project reached a dead end?
I asked something similar before, and Romsstar said that it isn't IMPOSSIBLE to find a solution (to insert all the necessary text) and it's a matter of time. Maybe we won't get this full patch this year or the next one, but when PSP games hacking become as common as SNES or GENESIS or NES games hacking, then all the tools needed for this will be available.
