Maybe he just updated the GX->AX code? That would explain why nothing seems different and why it was only a single version number increment. Note that the original GX->AX code in Devolution was quite outdated in r196.

If tueidj has a Devolution version compatible with CC controllers and Wii U for months,then is it safe to assume that he releases publicly old revisions with minimum extras?

I think it'd be safer to assume that he publicly releases revisions with functions that are fully working.

Yep, the AX code is probably the only thing he fixed. I don't see any difference in anything else.

It took him until r188 just to update the meta.xml from last July or something, so the lack of a changelog is right up his ally.

As said, I tested the AX code and it is definitely improved. more tracks, more cars, correct title screen.

There's currently no way to call someone.
But I'm still reading this thread regularly.
I also read Maxternal's post about the edition, and he resumed it correctly.

Is Maxternal's modified sample loader the only way to use the GX -> AX code? Is it supported by other loaders? I've never played F-Zero GX, but I do have a legit devo verified copy. I played the real F-Zero AX through quadforce to test it was working, but I'd like to see this version too.

USBLoaderGX has that in game settings. it also supports the weidescreen hack and that can be switched on/off for individual games.

Just an FYI, several GameCube games, like F-Zero GX, have their own built-in widescreen mode so you should use the official in-game widescreen option instead of the widescreen hack.

Also a heads-up, the GX->AX code can read the GX memory card save and will apply the same screen mode option that's saved for GX. In other words, if you enable GX's in-game widescreen setting then AX will also be rendered in widescreen.

Well I think WiiFlow has the options as well - I think Maxternal develops for it even.

Again though, don't be a derp - be sure to use the in-game widescreen option on GX. (to date I've come across at least 3 people that didn't know about said in-game widescreen option)

I think he just talked about Its options. Yet very few games have widescreen, so the hack is very useful:

Haha, yeah I won't make that mistake. For starters I don't have a widescreen CRT and I refuse to connect my Wii to anything but a CRT. I've also lurked in this thread since page 1 so I have caught the widescreen patch information the handful of times it's been mentioned (yet I didn't catch the GX -> AX support in multiple loaders, go figure)
