Apparently Hackers have manipulated the DRM to be allowed to go to and control other users cities and have been known to destroy them. Another interesting timbit is EA is now attempting to reduce the calls customer service gets by partially censoring the phone number on forums making one of the numbers an "*".

What are your thoughts? Fact or fiction? Do you think PR will be able to handle these claims if true and made public? will this be the final push needed to get an offline mode or will EA simply say this is what we wanted?

Update: The article may be misleading. A more likely scenario garnered from the exploit is given by fellow temper Scuba156:
No saves and no global market, but the saving can be fixed

Oh, it's just getting better and better isn't it. What's next, they hack the server and delete everyone's cities? Only time will tell...
The hackers should spend their effort on hacking into EA staff's personal PCs, installing a trojan that will disable the computer from being used every time it goes offline. Give them some of their own medicine. That would be fun :)

What would be the implications of this exploit be? I'll edit the first post if you have it handy.
Don't remember much, as I didn't buy the game or care about it. It was the basic /r/gaming for reference, and probably is still high up on /r/simcity

You mean tidbit right? We aren't talking about the centre pieces from a doughnut that you get from Tim Horton's :D

Anyway, EA's public relations team is literally fucked. And I thought the Rayman Legends thing was a complete disaster, at least that was just a delay. This is just completely screwed all to hell. EA continues to shoot themselves in the feet and they persist to bite the hands that feed them with the fanbase right now.

Oh how the mighty have fallen though. EA, I remember when you used to be good. I think tomorrow I will pull out my Sega Genesis and play the original NHL hockey game :D

Going to other player's cities and wrecking shit sounds like a fun multiplayer idea, to be honest. I'd love to wait until my mate gets his city looking bitchin' then spawn in as Godzilla and fuck everything up just to see the expression on his face.

haaahhaaahaaaaa..it's been a nightmare for EA.

Awww, poor EA! They've been through so much lately, what with customers not getting what they paid for and all.
