FCEUX, the cross-platform NES emulator, has been updated to version 2.2.1. This release brings a few new features in addition to the usual bug and compatibility fixes.

Notable Changes (03/10/13) said:
  • An auto-resume function now saves the state of emulation when the emulator is closed to bring it back up when the emulator is restarted.
  • A 4:3 (TV) aspect ratio option was added to the Windows port.
  • RAM Search can now search ROM as well.
  • CHT file parsing added.
  • Much more, available in the full changelog below.

Funny, their homepage says that this update was from a year ago. Is it a typo, or just the news being slow to get here? (I'm going to assume a typo)

Okay, that makes a lot more sense. I noticed when I downloaded it that it was a newer version than what I had, and I only switched to this particular emulator a few months ago.

This is a fantastic emulator. The mappers CaH4e3 added allow it to play unlicensed games other emulators haven't addressed. If you haven't tried this emulator out, you ought to, because it really is top knotch...arguably the best all-around NES emulator. Great job to the team of folks behind this masterpiece! B-)

Yeah but Nestopia is well Nestopia its so accurate its ridiculous literally perfect timing, well actually it might be a little off (by little I mean with in the margin of error present in the hardware itself) although it is a little power hungry for a nes emulator.

The fact it runs as well as it does for being cycle-accurate is a nice touch, unlike other emulators I can think of.

*Cough* Bsnes *cough*
