Hacking Need help dowloading IOS236

Im having trouble getting a usb loader to work on my wii.

ive been following what Cyan has been writing in this guide but now im stumped at the part where he says to download ios236 so install the other IOSs to replace the stubs

i have an ios236 installer on my SD card but when i use it in HBC it keeps failing. not sure what exactly im doing wrong.

any ideas? ill try to supply as many details as possible

the usb loader that comes with it still needs a cIOS in slot 249 or something and all of mine are stubs. i downloaded a cIOS to replace it but it in the wad manager but it keeps saying "incomplete download" or something

im new to this wii hacking thing but ive been researching it a lot recently and im pretty sure i need to replace the "stubs" in some of the 200+ slots and i need cIOS 236 to do it and that doesnt seem to be in modmii unless im mistaken

What are you using to install the IOSes? If you aren't using Multi-Mod Manager (MMM), then use that instead. You can remove the stubbed IOSes with it, and then use it to install your other wads. Well, except for the d2x IOSes- the d2x installer is a better idea there.

A helpful note about how the Wii works - the OS is made up of "slots" where IOSes can be installed, and you can actually install, more or less, any IOS to any slot you want (as long as you don't mess with the system IOSes). So, for example when installing the d2x IOSes, you want to at least install the d2x IOSes which are based on IOS 56 and IOS 57. Traditionally these are installed to IOS 249 and IOS 250 respectively, but you can really put them anywhere, as long as your loader is able to load an IOS from that slot.

im using the MMM right now. ive downloaded othercIOSs but whenever i try to reomve the stubs it says "error removing ios222, 223, 249, 250" if iuse the wad manager to install the IOSs it says it did not complete

If you used ModMii, it will generate the recommended cIOSes for you so you don't have to download them separately. IOS236 Installer is included as part of ModMii. Follow the guide step by step starting from step 1 and everything should work.

You also need to make sure that, when you launch MMM, it loads with an IOS that can install other IOSes, like 236.

update: got it working, the usb loader works now thanks to your suggestion to use the d2x installer.

I had a similiar problem but it said that the ios couldnt be downloaded because of unknown reasons.it also said try using an ios with trucha bug and something about ios15 ican get more details if u need them
