So I just bought a psp go for cheap , it was preinstalled with 6.20 pro-b8 . Now my question would be , is there an update to this CFW? If I update to the newest firmware, is it a guarantee that my save file would be all safe? Since I rememer there is an upgrade that would corrupt your safe file, my other question would be that would all homebrew , like for example launchers, plug ins, themes

thanks beforehand

Pro-C2 is the latest, but it has an issue launching (pirated?) PSN titles so some people are going back to PRO-C (still later than B8). I've never had an issue with save files on 6.x CFWs. The main issue was when switching between some 5.x CFWs.

I haven't heard of compatibility breaking during an upgrade like this.

the save problem
happen when you play a newer game(that need higher FW) on a lower FW

ie:a 5.50+ game on 5.00

when you update the save might be corrupt on higher FW but still work on 5.00
there are tools the may fix the save (like MagicSave) yo make it work on newer FW

There is a very good guide on an external webpage.

Since I'm not sure if i can link it

Google Wololo and check it out. It's the best CFW guide for PSP I know off.

If you must have a permanent CFW on a Go then 6.20 is your only option. 6.60 is dependent on the custom IPL which would brick your console.

No. Just run the Uninstallers for your current CFW (perm patch AND CFW if applicable), then run the installer for the latest.
