I really hope eBay doesn't give anyone their money back over this. Buyer Protection is for accidental scams or bad sellers, not for people who know they're being scammed but want reimbursement anyways.
you're actually more right than you may be aware of.
it's actually a criminal offense to do so.

1st pov: By sending money while actually knowing that it's a scam, you're actually not the one that is being scammed but by claiming it back you're actually the one who is committing a fraud.

2nd pov: aiding and abetting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aiding_and_abetting
wikipedia said:
It is necessary to show that the defendant has wilfully associated himself with the crime being committed, that he does, through his own act or omission, as he would do if he wished for a criminal venture to succeed

Quite frankly, if people knew for sure it was a scam, they wouldn't have wasted their time buying it in the first place. Sure it was very suspicious, but truth is many hoped it was those one in a lifetime opportunities. Of course, there are some people who bought it just cause they could ask for buyer protection but I don't think it's nice to judge...

I think a lot of people are just planning to scam back the scammer. They get a free bracelet (or whatever) out of it and the "seller" looses the price of a bracelet and shipping for being a crook.

(of course there's always that extremely optimistic voice inside you saying that it would be cool if it's a real Vita and he's just being REALLY, REALLY generous ... or they had just been stolen in large quantities.)

even stolen it would cost more than 20 bucks to send it, so there was no way in hell that would happen.

Maybe he feels bad for stealing them and wants to give back to the world :P lol
Well,if they were stolen, wouldn't you try to lose them as fast as possible?

It's was a good thing I was talk out of buying it and as well became more suspicious as time went on.

Not even a clone, but a fake coin.

Well the USPS now has my package, the received and sorted it at the LA postoffice on Tuesday February 5th according to their tracking site. I would imagine I should receive it (whatever it turns out to be) by the end of this week or start of next week. So regardless, I'll have plenty of time to file a dispute with ebay/paypal should I not receive an actual Vita.
