I am debating with myself if I should play Super Mario World the one for SNES, or the one for the GBA. I plan to play it on my Supercard DStwo, so which one would it also emulate better in its respected emulators? I also want to play it on the Wii so should I rather get the WAD(Virtual Console) or get an emulator to play it on in the Wii?

If this is the wrong forum for this topic then please move it.

The GBA has some added scenes and capabilities junk (better saving, etc.), but the SNES one has a bigger resolution so you can see more of what's around you.
I agree.
Due to the lower GBA resolution, sacrifices had to be made and little changes here and there to adapt the platformer to the smaller screen, therefore the level design is not 100% like the original, plus is just plain annoying to see less of your surrounding.
But it still plays beautifully and makes it for a great experience.
I'm not too sure whether the music was downgraded as well or not.

But anyway , going back to the original question, I would recommend to play it on a Wii with an emulator because you can use bilinear filtering ( which looks arguably better on a modern HD TV ) and save states ( very useful before boss battles ) .
And that is the SNES version I'm talking about of course.

The GBA version is amazing but only if you plan to play it on the go on a real backlit GBA SP ( no GBA emulator on DS or 3DS would do it justice 100% ) , otherwise , stick with the original, unscaled SNES version.

Does the SNES emulator run the Super Mario World game perfectly? Is it as smooth and stable as the VC version of SMW?

Get yourself a Super Mario World cartridge (or an EZ-Flash IV *cough*) and a GBA SP and play the GBA version, it made my childhood, so why not yours too :)?

The GBA version had weird colors, watered down music and reduced resolution; the Snes version was better and runs perfectly on Snes9x Next.

I prefer the GBA version and if you play on SCDS2 I would recommend this as GBA emulation is better than SNES on the supercard,
But if your using a Wii to play it the resolution wont be as good so the SNES version would be recommended

If one does want to play the GBA one, but would like to avoid bleached out colors (since, you know, you probably have a display with a backlight of sorts), there are several patches to revise color palettes back to their original SNES schemes. I mean plural in that there are other GBA ports whose colors were bleached, and who have received patches to remigrate the change.

Here is one for the Super Mario World port.

I know there are patches, but the GBA simply cannot replicate the audio quality of the Snes when it comes to ports.

Actually, it can :)

Don't blame the port's problems on the system!

Nah, I won't, the GBA is quite capable of good sound (Iridion for instance sounds like old school Amiga games like Turrican). I just blame the programmers for being lazy. FFVI Advanced could have sounded a lot better. Too bad those hacks aren't in stereo though. I know the GBA wasn't stereo (unless you had headphones), I wanted to test them on en emulator. The sound restoration hack for Final Fantasy IV is, but the others aren't...weird.

Also, if you don't have a classic or GC controller, the WAD is unplayable.

traditional emulators offer more features to take advantage of while playing (as mentioned) and the WAD is just emulated anyhow so there's no real benefit there unless you just want easy one-click startup from the system menu.

SNES is easier to emulate so you're more likely to get a better quality, full speed emulation out of it without any frame skipping and it won't have as much of the blurry stretched resolution that you'd have with a GBA emulator.
