Okay, I really just signed up here for this thread alone, but I've got a couple questions (No, not demands. Questions. Make sure you read that part before you get whiny at me.) and to be totally honest I didn't read all of the thread, so sorry if these have already been asked, but here I go anyways.

so that only "kamiya" appears in the screen (but not "Tai" ). It would be nice if you just put the 1st name of the characters (like Tai instead of Kamiya). It sent you hours ago a message with the translation of the other characters (Mat, Sora, etc)

^This irked me a little. Is this a translation or a localization? This might just be me, but I was kind of hoping it would be a proper translation IE using the Japanese names and terminology, seeing as it's you know..
a japanese game andijustpreferthepajapenseversionoverall
Although it does say "Taichi" in one of the screenshots in the first post, so that might already be answered for me. Either way it doesn't hurt to ask I guess.

And this was mentioned a few posts up but I didn't really get the way it was put, is there going to be a story translation? Again I'm not saying "OH MY GOD YOU HAVE TO TRANSLATE THE STORY I WANT IT NOWWWW" I'm just asking whether you guys think it's really possible you'll do one or not?

Either way I've only played the first few hours of this game until I heard there was an english patch in the works, So I'm really looking forward to it. So you know. Keep up the good work!

Also the game is amazing, right? It feels just like I'm playing the anime. I'm actually pretty glad the game probably won't get localized.

Well... I don't know what's the difference between translation or localization, but most of users would want a game with the less ammount of japanese writing possible.

About your doubt: there's no confirmation about a story translation. So far, the user Roxas75 said that he WANTS to make it, but of course that's no confirmation. So ... let's say that for now, no, there won't be a story translation. FOR NOW....

By localization I mean like. Using Izzy instead of Koushiro or Matt instead of Yamato, and using "Digivolve" over "Evolve", using dub terms for the levels and stuff like that, you know?

Okay so not confirmed but a possibility? I can get behind that.

nice it works...

i try to continue my work later at night or midnight..
i need to drive to my sister house..

feed back me if you found errors.. also help other how to patch..

I have to go to sleep. It's like 2AM here, and have to wake up early, but if anyone else is reading this and wants to keep testing out this patch, please do it. I didn't find any crashes or anything but I played the game for like 10 minutes only.

To Roxas, Romstar, and co.
hey just askin due to curiousity. Did u guys find working with Re Digitize easier than Adventure or vice versa? It's great that u guys found time to start looking through this game when the Re Digitize project is still in the works

Here is some of my work :)

As of this moment, I don't think there is any team or member who is definitely planning to translate the story.

For those who didn't know.
The Story/Dialogue text is stored around IDs 3519-3609. The text is located at the bottom of the file.

You can modify the text the same way as the menu file. But like Roxas mentioned, hex editing would be an inefficient way to handle it. However in the meantime, it would be great if someone (preferably someone fluent in japanese) could at least try translating the stuff that's there and store it in a text file or something. That way whoever can or wants to do the hacking/modding will already have something to work with.

NOTE: About the files
If you look at the file, you will see sets of kanji bounded by 2 'ÿ's. For e.g. ÿAよろこÿ.
The green portion is the exact same word as the blue portion. The pairs of ÿ are what puts that kanji above certain characters in the dialogue boxes.

So せたらÿAよろこÿ can be shortened to せたら喜 or せたらよろこ

I already solved all of this. ;)
I think that the Adventure is much easyer than redigitize, but there are some difficulties too.

@Liberta Nice work!

@silverwolf689 and Roxas75: if you can tell us which program did you use to open those ID files (with the story) I think that there will be users who don't know anything about translation software but do know japanese and will want to help by translating parts (and saving them in a txt file or something so that they can send it to you later, and you can include them in the game). Is it some special program or a hex editor?.

Obviusly there isn't a tool for that on the net, this is a new file format.
I coded a fast tool on my own.

I'm so confused :wacko:who exactly translating this game?
cause i see Liberta and xhai is also working on it

@SuperSZ
its a program they build (with a help with Story i believe)
maybe soon they will release a tool they were using or not

There's a team that consists of Romsstar, Roxas75 and StorMyu who are translating the game in a "pro" way. Xhai and Liberta are also translating the game by their own, but in a "bad" way (not "bad" about the accuracy of the translated words, but as the WAY that a translation is supposed to be made).
However, both of them are translating the menus and stuff but not the story dialogues (Liberta is just testing out stuff)

____________

I'm getting an 'XD3_INVALID_INPUT' error. Hmm could the problem be with my iso?

Keep trying. I also got the same error, but managed to succeed later. In the output part I wrote "anything.iso" (literally) and then it worked.

____________

@Liberta, are you just testing stuff or you decided that you'll translate the story of the game?

Well to be honest I am just translating stuff but I decided to look into the prologue.
Well the limitations are a pain -.- but I will see what I can do about these :P

Nice. I don't want to be negative, but I feel that sooner or later you'll find a "dead end". I mean, you have characters limitations, and some things can be rephrased so that they are writen in a shorter way, but I think it's higly unlikely that you can do that for the whole story text (I know, you didn't saying anything about you translating the story, but just supposing).
The limitations are OK for the menus and stuff, but I don't think that it'll be possible to achieve a story translation with this method (if someone decided to do it)
