I've searched some guides, but the ones I found were either outdate or not noob-oriented. Anyone know a good guide for Android?

I already have decent programming skill in C/C++ and know how to make some simple programs in Java.

Sort of same Q/background here. One of my main (first world like) 'problems' I encountered: I simply don't know what to make. I can port some of my previous codings and adept them to Android, which would be a good way to start. But..

Not sure if it would have a real world use.. Usable to others etc.

Just hoping someone can point me out to a Android-bounty-list thingy or something like that one day.

/care to collab RodrigoDavy?

(Darn, it's been way too long Temp..)

You can make games, a simple drawing program, a sound synthetizer, a graphics plotter, a program that interacts with another object... The sky is the limit, really!

A local pizza store in the town where I study made a really simple app which showed the menu, pictures of the each pizza, the prices, the list of ingredients and the phone number for taking order and delivery. It's really useful since sometimes you don't have a flyer with you, but you always have your phone. :creep:

Coming with unique project ideas is always the most difficult task for a programmer, especially when you're talking about platforms where pretty much the majority of applications a user would need have been created. Android market has over 700,000 apps, so it's not really surprising why some people would struggle to think of something new.

Best advice I can give in that regards, is to try and create an application that you want that you can't get anywhere else. Could be anything, like a new concept, or adding features to an existing concept, or creating a more user-friendly interface. If you want it, there's a high chance that other people will want it as well, and it gives you great motivation to actually finish the project. Worst case scenario, if nobody else likes the application, at least you have an application that you've always wanted.

That's why I can't wait for all of the new hardware to come out already (eg. Rift and Leap Motion). New unique hardware always gives me motivation, and I have quite a lot of ideas I want to try out with them.
