It still depends on the child. I knew fellow children while growing up who had violent video games. There parents had talks with them about those type of games. Made sure they understood why it's not okay to do the things in real life. Major part of todays' problem is parents not understanding how to explain things to their children. Then there are also lazy parents as well as parents who don't care enough.

Agreed and alot of the times its because their parents didn't teach them when they were young obviously.

I can see that a disturbed person who is playing a shooting simulator for 8hrs a day might pop off at some point but are video games or guns for that matter a problem when the rest of the 30 million people who own guns and or play violent games don't kill people. No it wouldn't. And even if it did, so what? All you'd have to do is sit through a short lecture from the sales associate about the video game, and have an ID proving you are legally of age. It would make it harder for children to get their hands on the video games, and that's great. No more whiny children on xbox live! All they say is faggot and retard anyways.

If a person really wants to do harm stopping official and legal ways to get guns won't do a thing. They'll either get them from illegal means or use another form of weapon. Hell, If you can bake a cake, you can make a bomb.

Here's the thing though. Those school shootings were done on the spur of the moment by kids as far as I can see. Very little planning other than "I have the means, what the hell do I have to lose?" (Feel free to correct me if there's evidence of long term planning). If their parents had no access to the firearms, where would the kids have gotten them? I can't see a kid thinking far enough to go blackmarket on it. As for the bomb thing? That again requires a degree of planning. I live in a society that has no public access to legal firearms. I have never felt that I need one. I have never heard of a kid snapping and building a fertiliser bomb and exploding a school.
Banning guns won't stop heavily premeditated shootings. For these, though, it will probably make a difference.

Well it is the easiest course of action when you don't want to admit society has problems.

Society has always had problems, it's just a matter of perspective. People seem more fucked up now because of things like social media and just how much exposure there is to world events. Nothing has really changed in the last 20 or 30 years, and things have barely changed in the history of the human race. There have always been sick and twisted murderers who try to mass genocide a bunch of people, that shit has been happening for over 500 years. The only thing we can do is learn from these problems rather then trying to blame certain things as a cause of creating said problem. Humanity is really good at scapegoating anything, people just don't want to admit that there is a bigger picture.

Oh trust me, I worked in one for 5 years. But the vendors titles are weak now a days and no one is really making any new ones... As far as I know.

Yeah, most arcades I've been too have been piss poor, bad selection and bad maintenance, it's just that I was watching a gamecenter cx arcade trip when posting that.
