Hi GBATemp,

I am posting this thread to let everyone know that the nds firmware file has a glitch. When you open the file for the first time it asks you to set it up with your details (Birthday, Date, Time e.t.c). After this it says it has to reset the system for the settings to take effect so it does this and then I open it up again (after my ACTUAL SYSTEM- not just the file resets-) and it asks me to set it up. So... I was wondering if any of you had a way of fixing this glitch?

Thanks,

Mr.x

P.S I am using a Supercard DSTwo. And the reason I want the firmware is to use pictochat so if there is a pictochat file floating around the web I was wondering if any of you could tell me (but without the location because that's illegal).

You know the DSTwo is not an Auto-boot card and you can just use the normal built in firmware just fine?

All you need to do is not boot into the card and use the normal Pictochat that way.

lol I am wondering why you weren't wondering why I was even asking. Anyway the problem is it won't save the settings
Well actually you are in the normal DS section and you could have flashed your DS with something like FWNitro, which actually doesn't have the Pictochat.

Or even had the Auto Mode turned out for the DS.

All of which are a possibility for the old DS lite/phat. I'll just send a report to have this thread moved to the right section to avoid future confusion.

Sorry? Where will it go?

3DS hacking section seems to be the right place since you are trying to use the .nds form of the NDS phat's firmware on the 3DS.

Don't worry, it will be moved and redirected by a staff member and it won't effect the thread itself in any manor, other than moving it to another section.

Thanks for all the help *sarcasm*
Grr. I can't help it if reality won't cooperate with your wishes.

Anyway, I think I have a best case solution. There was an early DS game named P1ng Pals that was made to be a direct competitor to Pictochat. Give the ROM a try and maybe it'll float your boat.

Will it work with pictochat on other DS'?

Dammit! I only have ONE Flashcard...
I read the IGN review and noticed this:

Granted, Ping Pals does offer a downloadable version of the software for cartridge-free players, and if the owner of the cartridge could transmit the program at
So the cartridge-less system can receive a temp copy via wifi from the other system.
