Gaming Skyward Sword black screen problem.

For some reason, when I try and load Skyward Sword off of USB Loader GX, the 'Wii strap safety guide' comes up, but after that the screen stays black. I tried using different IOS'S, tried the alternative .dol method, but the Wii Motion tutorial screen doesn't pop up.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

I think there is something about having to have watch the motion plus tutorial video at least once on the console, it could be watched on any game that supports it I think.

Anyway, I never could get Skyward sword to run from backup properly....the game would run for awhile, but it would randomly freeze at a black screen when loading a new area.

I finally gave up and this is the one game I have to grab the actual disc to play still. No problems playing that way so far.

Use ModMii to install the latest recommended version of d2x and use that as your cIOS. Also make sure your USB loader (I recommend Configurable USB Loader MOD) has "Block IOS Reload" enabled. That should fix your problem.

I have a general Skywardsword Question. I am trying to stay somewhat spoiler free but not that big of deal.

I started the song of the hero quest. I am vaguely aware of the game breaking glitch and I actually started the desert quest first....so I am at risk of triggering the glitch. I used the bomb to clear the way through the small hole to get to the gorge area but havent really gone anyt further yet.

My question though is how do I do the other quests? Since I found I am in danger of triggering the bug I figured I would just do a different quest, but when I got to Faron Woods I can only land at the sealed grounds but I can't get anywhere else and the Volcano area is just normal...nothing special happens. I poked around a bit and found some cutscenes are supposed to occur to proceed further in these quests.

Am I stuck finishing the part in the desert first now since I already started it by going through the hole?

In Faron Woods, you can't go anywhere other than the Sealed Grounds because you have to fight the Imprisoned before you can continue with the Song of the Hero quest at Faron Woods.

It doesn't sound like you activated the glitch since, as far as I know, it should lock out the Sealed Grounds event and can only be caused by getting the Thunder Dragon's song and talking to Golo the Goron a couple of times. I recommend you go ahead and do the part of the quest at Faron Woods and then try it at Eldin Volcano. I have a feeling you'll be able to do both. If it turns out you've somehow activated the glitch, there are ways around it (cheat codes or the official Wii Shop Channel Fix), but I think you're safe from the glitch.

I fought the imprisoned a second time with Groose's help already....is there a third fight I have to do? How do I trigger it?

If you beat the Imprisoned using the catapult, then you should be able to talk to the old woman and Groose to figure out that you can catapult into Faron Woods since the old woman had to place a seal there due to the flood.

Thanks, I will try that. If it doesn't work then I guess I will have to finish the desert quest and just be careful not to trigger the bug.

Well I tried and all the old lady would say was something aout a dragon in the desert. So I guess once you start one of the quests you have to finish it before going on to the next. I finished the desert quest and went straight to Faron woods after so I shouldnt have to worry about the bug. A third fight with the imprisoned started and actually lost...try again tomrrow.

Random skwardsword question.

I am fighting Demise, for some reason when I drink my HeartPotion++ it fills all my hearts and dissapears!?!?! Why can't I use it twice like I could in every other part of the game?

Doesn't it turn in to a heart potion + on your inventory screen after you drink the first helping?

No, if I remember correctly, it retains the name of Heart Potion++ after drinking a helping but shows a picture of a bottle that's half full.
