The Walking Dead

Does this have anything to do with the comic books? I'm reading the comic books atm, pretty entertaining I must say. Read 20 in the past 4 days.

And the series, is that based on the comic books?
The series is set in the same universe as the comic series. There is a small amount of mixture such as Hershel's farm and Glenn before he ended up with Rick's group.
The game itself is incredible.
The comics are amazing early on, I remember read a bunch per day in order to catch up, think when I caught up, it was like the 80th issue or something.

Well I'm at comic book 20 now, and I just watched the first 2 episodes of S1 (literally seconds ago). It's almost perfectly matching the comic books, good stuff

Huh? You do realise you posted in the thread for the game? Not the show...

I was watching Hannah form the Yogscast play the game, ever since it came out... today she aired the final episode, and I immediately bought the game, even though I never played it. I'm not sure if I'd call this a good game, but I certainly found it to be a great experience. And I was fucking ecstatic to see that Season 2 is coming :)

I beat episode 5 last. Holy shit. Let's just say, no matter how tough you are, the ending will have tug on your heart strings. I was literally sad. Especially after all the decisions I made throughout the game.

It all starts to deviate about halfway through season one. You'll see if you haven't already. I've read 102 of 104 issues of the comics to date, as well as every episode of the show aired, and I can safely say that show and the comic, although retaining basic elements, are quite different. The reasoning is that Kirkman wanted a different experience so that those who read the comics wouldn't have a frame for frame adaptation, knowing everything to come.

The game episodes, as mentioned, also take place in the universe, but seem to kick start right at the beginning of the zombie apocalypse while Rick spends the first month of it in a coma. It grants a different perspective on the experience of The Walking Dead, as every different adaptation tries to.

Anyways, I'd love to check out the game sometime, but I'm lacking in hardware with the ability to play it. It's a shame, as it's highly praised, but oh well.

Yeah I'm halfway S2 now, it's pretty good. Not super but good. I still like the comics more though, more quality and more addicting.

It's a good thing that the comics and the series are different, then more people can enjoy fun stuff. Because really, comic books are worth it too.

Comics =/= Game.
Comics are set in the same universe as the game.
The TV series isn't however (Which is why it focuses on Rick's group and not some other group)

So if in the comics, a walker completely kills Rick's group then in the game, a character might come across Rick's dead body.

Except this is about the game involving Lee and Clementine.

Er...What?
Clementine might find Rick's dead body if for some reason he were to be killed. So uh... What did you mean?

I mean lets talk about the game and not the comics. As this thread is about the game, and not the comics. Doesn't matter if it's set in the same universe or not, this is about the game. (Wow that really made me sound like a dick)

Oh, you were talking about the others, posting about the comics and whatnot. My bad.

I am a huge fan of the comic and the TV show, so i really can't wait to play the game. Because I prefer retail versions I waited for the disc version to be released. Lask week I wanted to order the PS3 version from amazon.com, but I read that the disc versions are full of flaws and are nearly unplayable, is that true?

If this is true, I want to buy the game on Steam, beacuse I prefer the digital downloads all on one account if possible and therefore I would prefere it to the PSN version. But I have some questions about the Steam version:
-Is the gameplay in any way different from the console version?
-In steam it says that there is a partial controller functionality what does it mean?
-As a PC Controller I use a PS2 controller with THIS adapter, will it work?
-If not, is it possible to play it with the controller if I use Xpadder?
-Are there any other things I need to know about the Steam version?

Just beat the 400 Days DLC. It's short but still pretty good.

*snip*
Thank you so much. I'd forgotten about the DLC. It's funny that I paid $5 for the whole collection of TWD yet I have to pay $5 for the DLC as well. My fault for pirating it until there was a sale xD

I played Episode 1 and enjoyed it, but Back to the Future: The Game was much better. Maybe that's just because BTTF is overall great and there's not much that can beat it.
