I take it that the PayPal situation has been resolved? Well, that's good.

I was starting to wonder if perhaps auctioning some autographed goods of theirs wouldn't be a better idea - I mean, who wouldn't want a console or a game with the signature of a few of the most famous hackers in the scene? That kind of a thing would fetch a high price...

Yeah, that's a suggestion. ;)
Another idea might be to sell custom t-shirts and mugs based on popular hacks, on a site like Zazzle. Then the donator is getting something tangible for their money too.

We need some rich philanthropist to donate $1500. Problem solved.

In other news, the 3DS' hardware-based security measures appear more vigorous than the Vita's software-based holes. A software flaw linked with a plausible way to interact with such a breach would make progress faster.

I can do that its just that the bank transfer doesn’t include my country from the list , I live in the United Arab Emirates.

It looks like the donations have been going pretty slowly. People need to get the word out (to people outside of this site), and also maybe find some other payment methods. Bitcoin maybe?

To be honest Bit coins seem like it wouldn't help the donation much, not many people use them and the values fluxate way too much.

As always I'm interested in supporting this cause but I want to see the total a bit higher first.
If you can get it past $1000 I'll start pitching in, if I'm able at least.

It's difficult to do that because so many other sites are against piracy. Yes, I know this isn't directly for piracy, but this is the beginning of what it can lead to. Most sites believe homebrew = piracy, and I think it's know around here that the guys conducting the research and hacking of the 3DS are not pro-piracy.

The only option I can think of in getting the word out is to post it on other homebrew sites, but I don't know of any. Another option would be to post it on a piracy/modding site, but I don't know of any of those either.

Would Engadget support something like this?
I'm pretty sure I've seen articles on sites such as Engadget talking about homebrew before. Or maybe it was Gizmodo. One or other has certainly had articles and even tutorials for running homebrew on various consoles (installing CFW on PSP, HBC on Wii etc.)

I believe Joystiq have ran similar articles in the past as well.

This was in 2008, they wouldn't DARE publish such an article any more.
