I've been wondering for ages now... O_O Someone please answer this for me:
IS WII U MOTION CONTROLLED?!
I just really wanted to know, and if it's not, wouldn't that mean it's not a Wii? Shouldn't they name it something else?

I haven't watched any Wii U videos, so please go easy if they obviously stated it on one of them...
Thank You! :yaywii:

The Gamepad has motion sensors and you can use Wiimotes with it, so yeah it is. Many Wii U games probably won't really use it though because the touch screen is the "new thing".

It's not a wii. It just so happens to play wii games. And can be controlled with pretty much (or even) all of the wii equipment. And has a retarded name that suggests it actually is a wii. Oh, and the console kinda has the same-ish color.

But despite all that...I have no idea how you could manage to mix it up. :P

the Wii U's main controllers are the Wii Remotes, same as the Wii,
it can use 4 of them for 4 players just like the Wii,
it also has the specific WiiU controller with the touch screen and motion detection,
which makes it like a DS/3DS

since the DS/3DS have 2 screens, same as the WiiU
and the 3DS has motion control, same as the Wii/WiiU
and the DS/3DS have touch screen, same as the WiiU

so the idea with the WiiU touchpad i'm guessing is to get the same vibe as the DS/3DS (but no 3D)
but the main controllers are still the same as the Wii

edit:
i'm guessing the Wii3 will have 3D?
the "Wii3D"? lol

Actually no, the "main controller" is the gamepad and the new Wii U Pro controllers (basically looks like an X360 controller that has all buttons of the gamepad minus the touch screen)

Actually, I'm pretty sure I can recall hearing that the Wii U supports 3D TV's.

well, it seems like it's going to be the same deal as the Wii, and will depend on 3rd party devs either getting it right or failing.

from a market viewpoint it wouldnt seem reasonable for nintendo to promote 3D on the WiiU, while promoting it as the main selling point of the 3DS,
they would be making their own products compete against each other.

just how the WiiU would equate to a home DS but they waited to be done with the DS to push the WiiU.

so i'm guessing they will promote home console 3D next gen.
just my guess.

So the Wii U has no bar shaped controller such as the nunchuk or the Wiimote, but still has motion control? Isn't that a bit like the PS3's Sixaxis?
