Hacking Do any flash carts support Soul Silver?

No matter what patch I use or version of the Soul Silver ROM I use it still freezes after a certain amount of events on my R4 card. I'm going to buy a new card, which is the cheapest option for one that will function with soul silver?

Are you using a clean ROM or a patched one? Is it a proper release or a nuked one? Did it come with an NFO? What kind of an SD/SDHC are you using? What class?

I've tried a clean ROM at first, it didnt work which is what caused me search for a solution. Currently running a patched one(Rudolph?). No NFO, I beleive it is a proper release. 2GB SD card,

Ah, yes - cards under 4GB don't have Class classification (SD). Can you tell us if it's the U or E release as well? They have separate patches.

As a person that never had any problems with SoulSilver while using the patch I posted, I can't really help you much beyond the "use the patch, if necessary, look through Cheats and maybe you'll find something there". If you're looking for a card to replace your R4, Acekard 2i's are affordable and DSTwo's are the most updated carts... but seeing that you're running the latest Wood firmware, you shouldn't have those issues in the first place. Did you try different SD's? Different ROM's (I mean sources, the release should still be Xenophobia's)?

I recommend two carts - the AK2i and the DSTwo. Perhaps also the R4iGold (from www.r4ids.cn), but your card is compatible with WOOD already, so that wouldn't be a big upgrade.

Have you considered using a legacy WOOD version? Perhaps the latest revisions "screwed something up" and an older one would fix your issue? I believe that the version used at the time was 1.29b, at least according to Rydian's review of the R4iGold.cn.

I'm glad to help out. Sometimes these things happen - newer versions may override certain patches in an attempt to boot games in Clean Mode. Y'know how fixing one thing breaks another?
