Según diversos reportes, durante una conferencia de gerentes de la cadena de tiendas de videojuegos GameStop, la marca de accesorios PDP (Performance Designed Products), anunció que pondrá a la venta su nueva línea de aditamentos para Wii U el domingo 18 de noviembre, alimentando así la hipótesis que viene barajándose desde hace algunos meses de que, fiel a su tradición, Nintendo lanzará la nueva plataforma durante la tercera semana de dicho mes. Cabe recordar que el Wii salió un 19 de noviembre y el GameCube –ya yéndonos más atrás–, un 18 de noviembre.

Representantes tanto de PDP, como de Nintendo se mostraron renuentes a confirmar o desmentir la mencionada información. La gerente de comunidad de Performance Designed Products, Candace Hinton, simplemente dijo no saber sobre la calendarización de la Gran N y puntualizó que el lanzamiento de su mercancía es cosa aparte, mientras que Nintendo señaló que no tenía nada que decir en este momento.

Como referencia, a comienzos de abril se filtró un memorándum interno justamente de GameStop, donde se ponía sobre aviso a los empleados sobre el debut de la plataforma el domingo 18.

Lógicamente, lo anterior podría tratarse sólo de una coincidencia o información errada, pero incluso si es así, todo apunta a que noviembre será el mes de lanzamiento, considerando también que el Black Friday, viernes de rebajas que marca el inicio de la temporada navideña, será el 23 de noviembre.

Se dice que la Gran N hará el anuncio de la fecha de salida del Wii U el próximo 13 de septiembre durante un magno y exclusivo evento a celebrarse en la ciudad de Nueva York.

PDP already issued a statement saying that date was for their Epic Mickey 2 stuff and they did not know the Wii U date.

Game Stop has no clue when it's coming out either, they have everything listed as 12/31/12, and that is certainly not happening.

There's a lot of fantastic looking games for the launch window both retail & eShop, even if you take away the multiplatform titles. This could be their strongest line up for a console, of course we need to see what is released when but Nov-Dec releases are looking great.
