Why are people arguing about the graphics? It has never been the graphics that have made Mario games great. In my book, super Mario world is still the best for the series, and it's over 20 years old.

I agree. Super Mario World is the best one, hands down. Unless you include Yoshi's Island, since that was technically titled "Super Mario World 2"

The gameplay feels exactly like the 1st game on the DS.

And yes, there are more shaders and the "overworld" looks alot better, what i meant with "similar graphics with 3ds resolution" was that the game gave me the same impression as the 1st one did but with somewhat improved resolution. But graphics never mattered to me in a Mario game, if you liked the 1st game on the DS, then you will love this one.

I was actually hoping the next game would be New Super Mario World, which set me up for a little disappointment when NSMB2 was announced. Even the world map was vastly superior to the NSMB/Wii/2 layouts.

I was actually hoping the next game would be New Super Mario World, which set me up for a little disappointment when NSMB2 was announced. Even the world map was vastly superior to the NSMB/Wii/2 layouts.

A bit too much to hope for, imo. Lol. But that would've been really cool. It's annoying how the NSMB series is basically ignoring SMW references except Reznor (and I guess u can count the koopalings, but they were already in SMB3).

Mario games always used the near the best graphics the console could do for the time.
DS isn't powerfull, but NSMB had a good graphic for that limited power and time.
Wii the same.
NSMB2 looks like a DS game, it doesn't look near to what 3DS can handle.
It looks like a lazy project; a port of DS version with few Wii textures added and just it.
We were expecting something Wii quality, not DS quality.
It had disappointing graphics. I could say a lot ofr other disappointing things,
like the laughable 3D, the lack of new and original power-ups,
but it will take too long and I already said it a dozen of times

The golden flower is just like a fire flower, but it turns thing into gold, I don't see much originality in it.
The golden box is a variation of this:

Nothing but stupid and useless variations.

Even if they looked exactly the same they still wouldn't be the same person. They are all named Link but they live in different periods and time lines, they aren't the same person.
