ive read in the past about dml/dm having issues with some 3rd party memory cards... does anyone know if dm works ok with the 128mb and 256mb gc mem cards u can find on ebay?
works perfectly fine with my pink 256 mb unofficial card.

Actually, I know DML can open GC homebrew apps (like Swiss) I haven't tried it with DM, but you actually might not need to overwrite the MIOSAlso to use swiss loader you should overwrite your MIOS, and reinstall DM after you save at disc 2.
You can find all kinds of stuff on eBay. Mine is 128mb and I'm sure at some point someone has sold the brand on eBay but that's no guarantee (it's a white one, longer than a 1st party one with the protruding end being fatter than the rest and is packaged as a "Wii Memory Card" if I remember correctly. I don't know if that helps). I only have the occasional need to remove it and reinsert it because right when a game starts up it says it's corrupt but it does work with mine otherwise.ive read in the past about dml/dm having issues with some 3rd party memory cards... does anyone know if dm works ok with the 128mb and 256mb gc mem cards u can find on ebay?

As I said, I understand it works with DML but I'm not sure that feature was left in or added back in to DM yet. It would be the same process, just run Swiss Booter or open the swiss.dol file with WiiXplorer and tell it it's GC Homebrew. I haven't actually tried it since installing DM so I'll have to give it a try once I get home (and maybe double-check about DML, too, in case I'm remembering wrong.).I didn't know about that. I am using DM, how can i boot swiss from it? Normally i use swiss loader and i have to overwrite the MIOS because of that. I would be very glad, if you could detail the process.
I think you name them something like mario-disk1.iso and mario-disk2.iso and load the first one. When it asks you to change disks you eject whatever you have in the drive and put it back in and it automatically switches. (I think with Swiss you have to have SOMETHING in the drive for it to work, anyway.)So you save the game before disc swap, install Swiss and you can change discs in Swiss? Or how do you do it exactly?
yup, just like that. you should name isos as blabla-disc1.iso and blabla-disc2.iso. At the disc change screen, you eject the disc and reinsert it and the game goes on. I always have a wii original disc in drive. Unfortunately later swiss versions didn't work for me. The one that surely works for metal gear solid tts is Swiss 0.1-r2. Google it and you will be fine.
Also to use swiss loader you should overwrite your MIOS, and reinstall DM after you save at disc 2.
No Name Mem Card 128MB from DealExtreme for a few bucks works fine for me, I've used it with Swiss, DML and now with DM, newer had any problems (also with importing and exporting saves to SD), somewhere I read that you need different cards for NTSC and PAL but I managed to get two saves from RE3 PAL and NTSC on one card - some clarification if anyone is curious. Although I had to get that card replaced, previous was not recognised by Wii and the games - I've read somewhere that it can be formatted and used normally but I can't find any way to format a GC mem card on Wii. Does anybody know if it's possible and if so - how?Third party 16 mb and 64 mbOriginal or third party mem card? just curious.Same here, remove and insert again during the error message.I've had some times when I first load up a game that it says the memory card is corrupt using a real memory card. (128mb third party one if that makes a difference).
All I have to do, though, is remove the card and put it back in and it accepts it. I'm not sure if that problem's related to yours in any way.
Play games the way they were meant to be played, with a GC controller? The DualShock is overrated as fuck anyway, my fingers always hurt after using it.Here is a funny bug.
I am using a gamecube to ps2 convertor with an original Dual Shock Controller as i am a long time playstation fan. I finished metal gear solid tts perfectly with this combination. I then played some virtual console games, all work fine.
Today i tried eternal darkness. I found out that the "R" button doesn't work. I then tried Killer 7 and again the same behaviour. I updated my dios mios from v4 to v5, reinstalled MIOS and reinstalled dios mios again, no change.
MGS tts still work fine with "R" button but the other two games don't register the button push. Can it be that these games detect button sensitivity as gamecube "L" and "R" buttons have sensitivity levels, but converter just omits this. Though it doesn't feel logical as the same behaviour should be for "L" too which works perfectly fine.
I am running out of explanations as why one button works for all virtual console games, at least a gamecube game but not for others.
I tried an original wii game, nothing changed. I don't have an original gamecube game around so i didn't try it.
Where's are option to Swap Discs I'm playing Baten Kaitos Origins and am near the end of Disc 1 I heard we can't swap discs yet, I assume its safe to say this will be added with the coming releases?
Well, not really. Wii just tells me (and games that I tried) that 'device is not supported/operational' or something similar. I can't give you exact error message because I can't find the mem card now, but it was reported that after few formats (exactly the same) card was revived - from what I read GC gave the oportunity to format the card, but Wii doesn't. Is there any way to manually force format apart from games that detect corrupted card?a lot of games will offer to format it for you when they tell you it's corrupt.
Interesting, the games I'm talking about actually say the card is corrupt and offer to format it. I think I've seen something like "device not supported" or "device is not a memory card" before but it was simply because I had my SD gecko in and not the memory card. It's been a long time so I don't remember the exact message. I don't remember which game actually offered to format either since the corrupt mem card error seems to happen at random and I hadn't noticed if it was always on the same games. Of course for me I just have to remove the card and stick it back in and it recognizes it again so I haven't actually formatted in a while either. Sorry I'm not much help. On the off chance, though, that you've ever used the card with Japanese games, remember that they do have a different format for memory cards than European and American ones.Well, not really. One issue with USB Loader GX though, if you load disk 2 while still have disk 1 in the same SD/USB it will automatically load disk 1, apparently it only reads the first 6 letters of the Game ID instead of checking for the 7th letter, using DML Booter seems to work fine though, I hope this is fixed in later revisions of USB Loader GX, and maybe add an option to choose a .dol file from the GC iso like on Wii so that games like Sonic Gems Collection can work without needing to have a disk!

No one knows. There many things that are probably in the works (audio streaming, disc swap, better compatibility, nmm) but they are going to take their time, as much time as crediar needs.
Baton Kaitos supposedly lets you save before changing discs, so you have an advantage: you save, turn off, continue from the second disc even after the failed disc swap. Resident Evil games work this way and there have been reports of this method working. Other game like Metal Gear Solid, promtp the disc change without saving and there's the problem.
We should make a list somewhere with double discs that let you save and the ones that don't.
Games that people have reported working:
-Resident Evil (Series)
-Baten Kaitos (Series)
Games that won't let you save:
-Tales of Symphonia
-Metal Gear Solid
Untested/unreported games:
-Killer 7
-Enter the Matrix
-The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age
-Splinter Cell series.
I guess those are the most important multiple disc games. Luckily, there aren't many.
