Today at the San Diego Comic Con, Epic Games revealed some more details about their upcoming game Fortnite. It will be a PC exclusive, and run on the Unreal Engine 4. In fact, it will be the first game to run on the new engine (Demo here, if you need a reminder).

Being a PC exclusive it interests me, maybe that way developers will remember that PC gaming is much more advanced than console gaming, I admit that I enjoy some multiplats, but it sucks when all PC gets are just ports with equivalent graphs to the console counterparts when they could be so much better.

Agreed, I am happy to see this as well. From your last sentence, the game MLB 2k9 comes to mind. That game on PC was a DIRECT port from the 360 version, with the same letters from the controller assigned to the keyboard... It was horrible.

But admittedly I would've wanted it on consoles.

A port at a later time wouldn't be out of the question. Probably when the next generation Xbox comes out, they'll get working on it.
I believe someone from Epic Games said that a port for consoles will eventually be in the works.

Yay, a PC exclusive for once instead of a shitty ass 360 port. So fed up with PC games being ported from a console and are horribly optimized for the PC in the end because the developers don't take the time to fix the port.

It doesn't necessarily have to be PC exclusive as long as it's PC optimised. Exclusives tend to be just that, so it's all good!

I wondered what happened to Fortnite, it seemed to just disappear since it was debuted. It's good to see it alive.

But admittedly I would've wanted it on consoles.

Yeah, this isn't coming to the PS3/360. It's PC exclusive for a reason (hooray superior tech).

They stated that ports might be a future venture, but from the sounds of it they're going to release UE4 on the PC first since that's the only platform where they can make it look pretty enough of an engine demonstration at this point in time. Fortnite does look pretty interesting and if it's anything like what I've seen in the videos then I'd gladly feel like wanting to play it, I just hope this whole new engine demonstration doesn't muck things up. First thing that comes to mind of such less enjoyable engine demonstrations for me would be Crysis. I'm sure a lot of people really enjoyed that game, but I really couldn't shake the feeling that the whole game was a tech demo since if you overlook the pretty graphics I found the actual gameplay to be pretty darn dull.
