3DS cart's encrypiton part is different from the other NDSL carts
he chips included in this 3DS cart is MX23J4GC0-75H(48Pin) and 25L4001(8Pin).
The hardware structure is almost the same as that of the NDS cart.
Our technical team removed the standing out part of the 3DS cart and inserted it into a NDSi.
Just guess what will happen - NDSi shows no cart inserted!!!
This means 3DS cart's encrypiton part is different from that of a NDSL cart.

Do you think that changing the encrytion of the a ds(containing a 3ds rom) flashcart
we could enter 3ds mode?
Maybe, maybe not. :(

Sorry, my 3DS screwed up when I was uploading this. Also, I win because of being the 1000th post

Just out of curiosity, isn't Black/White Version 2 using a similar method of what was previously done in ''LoZ: Oracle of Seasons'' with the Advanced shop?

For those that don't know what I'm talking, what happened was that whenever an ''Oracle of Seasons'' cartridge was put into a GBA, you got an exclusive shop that was unavailable if you put the cartridge in a GBC
"If you put Tron Evolution in a DSi it unlocks a feature that lets you scan a special QR code with the camera."

Is that an example of what you mean?

I really have no idea how this stuff works but theres no hurt in trowing some random idea in, right?
Maybe it is possible to make the 3DS run in some sort of install-mode, just like you can do on a android phone by holding the sound up button while booting the phone.
Did anyone ever try to hold certain buttons while turning on the 3DS?

There's no reason for Nintendo to have done that. At all.
If there is a combination, then we'd take a long time to find it.
13 buttons, plus the wireless switch, and theoretically holding certain buttons down for the right amount of time while booting up does something?
I don't know the math for this, but to find the right buttons would take a while..

Somewhat. What I wanted to say was that the games had special content designed only for the next generation console even though it came out on the previous console. What this would state is that there would be a special code in the games programming that somehow tell it to check for the which console it is in. Or it could be the other way around and instead there is a specific code that tells the 3DS "I'm Special". If we find this code, we could have a big boost in trying to hack the 3DS.

The problems that come to mind though are that we have to search through millions of lines of code, and it's most likely that the code is encrypted as well (like usual). Any other flaws you guys see?

If you can easily tell what code is encrypted then find that
and then look at how the game sends that code to the 3DS letting it know its special

and then try to get a flashcart to do the same

Is streetpass data like transfered miis stored on the sd card or system memory? If its stored on the sd card would we be able to compare a mii that is streetpassed and a mii from a wii.

I didn't say that it would be easy, first I said "...we have to search through millions of lines of code...".

This is probably useless:
I found another freeze. When are at the menu, load a ds game and wait for the screen to go black. When it goes black, take out the game card and switch it with a 3ds game (you need to be quick). The 3D is still on, but it remains at a black screen. You can't do anything other than turning it off.

Do you get longer to do it if you hit home before switching?

Not sure if this was already discuss, you know you can download demos of the 3ds games from e shop, cant we use something like the GTS to send .pkm from our own DNS?

I know it would be hard but is just an idea, that way you would have a rom in the sd card or use the flashcard to access, somehow the e shop, but to download the files in your computer.

Generally speaking, any crash not caused by user input data that can be manipulated is useless. So yeah, this is almost certainly useless.

The only combinations are for touch screen, circle pad, and gyro calabration.

I meant it as in If you can easily tell if its encrypted

rather then looking though millions of lines of code just to find its encrypted
but if you can't easily tell the difference
then i don't know

I think a lot of hackers that are working on the 3DS aren't telling us NEARLY everything they know... I honestly think neimod's picture of the hacked RAM code (for a little bit of text) is just a teaser... Wish we weren't so in the dark sometimes. But anyways, is anyone probing more than just the RAM? I wonder if there is ANY way to moniter code being proccesed in the cpu/ onboard chip... If only there was some sort of graphics overload we could use....

It's possible that they are just hiding their most significant finds so that blabbermouth leechers don't go and tell the world that what's happening causing Nintendo to delete the glitch. For all we know, this forum could be watched.

Also I was a leech for the Wii Homebrew , but this time around I really want to try to push the 3DS' hardware to the limit so that we can have high quality games on here.

Though we can already crash many 3DS apps, they're unexploitable. And by that, I mean forever unexploitable.

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
